Attitude Is the Key to Success
ATTITUDE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedom- to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances” – Viktor E. Frankl
A very simple but true saying is that the only thing you can’t take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of the human freedom is the power to choose one’s attitude in any given circumstance and seemingly hopeless environment.
The important question is what is attitude? Attitude is the way we mentally look at the world around us and act so. A well researched book “Emotional Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman brings the scientific proof that “its our attitude more than aptitude that determines our altitude.” Attitude is everything, even the worst situation can be tackled with one’s positive attitude. The environment around has a part to play but in the end its only we who decide to take or leave the opportunity.
Success or failure of a business is determined more by attitude than by aptitude. It's not very easy to maintain positive attitude every time but it is essential to keep ourselves on track so that we get the best results from everything we do, every decision we make.
A simple way to understand the effect of attitude is to know the difference between “optimistic and pessimistic” An optimist is hopeful about the future or the success of something in particular; on the other hand, someone who is pessimistic thinks that bad things are going to happen. Which one of them can be termed as reality? Since we see the world as we are, both the views can become our reality. This is the way we mentally look at the world around us and this defines one’s attitude towards life.
All of us are full of attitude but what sort of attitude do we possess? Have we ever tried to apprehend? Now is the time to know and develop attitude. Most of us spend maximum time in developing our skills, but what is the use of skills if we can’t utilize those skills

In the famous movie Remember the Titans, the captain of the T.C. Williams football team stated, "attitude reflects altitude". When your attitude is positive you can fly higher than the sky, but if your attitude is negative then you can fall deep into the ocean. It has been said that a positive attitude is the key to success in life, and I just so happen to agree. Positivity can make you more motivated. When you are positive, others respect you and want to help you succeed.…

The reason I chose to read “Attitude is everything” is that I believe that attitude plays an important role in one’s life : either it makes it better, or it can ruin it. I am interested in finding new ways of viewing life, solving problems and see different perspectives, and I realized that attitude has a lot to say about this. The dictionary defines attitude as “manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind; position or posture of the body appropriate to or expressive of action, emotion, etc.: a threatening attitude; a relaxed attitude.…

Our attitude can align with our behaviors, however many times our attitude may be one thing and our behavior another. A person may say that they believe one thing, yet when it comes down to it their behavior may reflect that they either have a different belief or that acting out their attitude is merely not acceptable behavior (Gilovich et al., 2013). Attitudes can be a successful predictor of behavior (Gilovich et al., 2013). For example I have a good attitude about exercise, therefore it is something I incorporate into my life and make a priority. So my attitude does influence my behavior in a positive way. However I also have good attitudes about volunteering more, spending more time reading my bible and reaching out to people. More times than not my behavior falls short of my attitude. That being said, it appears that attitudes more often than not represent good intentions. Often times a person believes something and furthermore, they believe that they will follow through. Due to either time restrictions or just a lack of ability to follow through, many attitudes do not actually come to fruition through behavior. Perhaps thinking about an attitude can change it because you put forth some effort to analyze and understand why you may have that attitude. Awareness can be the catalyst for…

Attitude is the way one feels about someone or something in particular. It can affect emotions, behavior, actions, and thoughts. The various factors that contribute to attitude include culture, situations, experience, and peer pressure. Culture deals with ones beliefs and values. Growing up in a specific culture could alter ones attitude towards something or someone with different views. Situations and experience contribute to attitude in that when someone goes through something good or bad, it could ultimately change their attitude towards it. Peer pressure is one that deals with the influence of those around you.…

“Attitude is everything” because it elicits the positive aspects of life, and eliminates most negative aspects that intercede your desire to succeed. Last year, my bowling team became discouraged during a game, because we were losing by a few points. A positive change in our attitude came when the next three bowlers each bowled a strike. Their positive response became contagious, and as a team, we fed off one another’s positive energy. It was a winning attitude that made the difference between winning and losing that day and needless to say, our team prevailed.…
