Argument Analysis Of Collaboration
This writer agrees with this author regarding collaboration. The author stated " Collaborating is working together with different types of people to attain a common goal." Collaborating is a great style for team building within the health care system. When leaders identify a common goal, bring members together, and allow all individuals to have input in reaching the goal; the true root of the problem is solved. One of the draw backs to collaborating is the time involved. Additionally, collaborating requires strong leadership to be effective. Also the writer stated a valid point in compromising can be a temporary solution for a resolution. Nursing is a stressful profession and conflict should be resolved as soon as possible to prevent

Patients depend on their health care team members for their needs. The health care system is the made up of so many different people, so it’s important for all team members to work together. Interprofessional collaboration is when team members working together in a positive environment and exchanging their knowledge to better care for their patients (Sangster-Gormley,…

The collaboration of each team player was a critical aspect of her organization. For an organization to function, it depends on the level of interaction that exists between the leader, staff, and the manager. Collaboration was a key component in the development of a successful climate. In an article in New York State Nurses Association, Scholl and Jenkins described that “a lack of interdisciplinary cooperation and collaboration and poor communication contribute to harm patients,” and the resulted was found in poor management and communication (Scholls & Jenkins, 2001, p. 22). This study showed that the relationship between cooperation and collaboration play a vital role in the organization as well as the need to effectively support one another…

Throughout the year as a writer, I have learned how to use and express my opinions more often than what I did before. Although these were minor changes, I felt like these changes made myself more confident in what I was writing and I can connect with them based on either own personal experience in my synthesis essays, or use different sources from DBQ essays, or the sources that I used in my constructive argument essays. In my synthesis essays, I tried my best in incorporating things that I have learned and personal experiences that might help my argument. I mostly simplified on what I want to say in my synthesis essays, however, I felt like I can further expand on what I wanted to write, but I could not find a way to express those ideas on paper.…

Nurses are required to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams (MDT). The care and management of individuals, relies heavily on the participation in team based efforts and requires individuals who share a common goal, in order to create a well managed health care system. The concept of team work within health care was created to “provide quality holistic healthcare to every patient”. Each team member must have a clear role and contribute effectively in order to maintain a well balanced and supported environment. It gives the patient high standard of care: It creates an opportunity for every member of the team to provide information about the patient’s need which can be orally or written, this will allow the care team to have an insight and understanding of how to offer the best possible care for the patient.…

    Change Management

My first approach toward managing the resistance of the two nursing team is to educate and communicate the change. Within Lewin’s three step model it speaks of “unfreezing the status quo” (Stephen Robbins, 2005, p555 Para 1); the two teams rather keep their working situations as they are current. Retraining forces are present for the fact both teams feel they are vital to their departments and the other team lacks the skills necessary to function in their department. By educating and communicating to both teams my reason for implementing the change will be the driving force that will change the teams’ behaviors away from their status quo. The two-team leaders may impose a restraining force that will hinder movement from the existing equilibrium. Counseling each team, team members individually will allow their concerns and apprehensions known and addresses (Stephen Robbins, 2005). In addition to Lewin’s three-step model, implementing the organizational development concept are ideal for both teams. Both teams lack organizational growth, fail to value co-workers human values, both teams lack collaborative and participative process, and fail to have a spirit of inquiry (Stephen Robbins, 2005). The organizational development concept will allow for interventions for bringing about change.…

Collaborating is a strategy for managing conflict that involves working toward a solution that meets both parties’ needs. When practicing collaboration you are showing a higher concern for you and your partner’s needs. It is the most time consuming of the five strategies but it is the most effective. Showing that you have a mutual respect and understanding towards the other person makes you both feel at ease. This strategy is also known as the “win-win strategy”.[3] Collaborating is the ideal way of handling conflicts. It requires a great amount of patience, imagination, and energy. Most the time people turn to collaborating when situations are dealing with addressing the interests of multiple parties, when a high-level of trust is present, when a long-term relationship is important, when you need to work through hard feelings/animosity, or when you don’t want to have full responsibility.…
