Collaboration Analysis
The collaboration of each team player was a critical aspect of her organization. For an organization to function, it depends on the level of interaction that exists between the leader, staff, and the manager. Collaboration was a key component in the development of a successful climate. In an article in New York State Nurses Association, Scholl and Jenkins described that “a lack of interdisciplinary cooperation and collaboration and poor communication contribute to harm patients,” and the resulted was found in poor management and communication (Scholls & Jenkins, 2001, p. 22). This study showed that the relationship between cooperation and collaboration play a vital role in the organization as well as the need to effectively support one another

Synergy occurs when teams use their resources to the fullest and achieve, through collective performance, far more than is otherwise possible” (Lombardi, Schermerhorn, & Kramer, 2007, p. 76).…

A nurse can exert leadership without occupying a formal leadership position by taking a leadership stance. In the course, Becoming a Leader in Health Care, it describes leadership as an attitude and not just a position (Reinertsen, 2009, p. 2). A specific example of collaboration I have seen in my clinical setting is the use of rounding with the nurses and doctors and the use of team huddle in the morning time. In team huddle, they nurse manager discuss different aspect of cares and asks about any falls, if anything is missing in the patient room, and about discharges. The team huddle helps keep everyone informed about what is happening on the floor and how to better improve patient care. The other thing I have seen is that at a specific time the doctors come on the floor to perform their rounding. As the doctor performs the rounding the nurse follows the doctor around and sometimes into the patient room with them. This helps ensures that everyone is on the same terms about the plan…
