Although it is estimated that Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet in the 1590’s the teenage characters show a lot of similarities to the thoughts and attitudes that teenagers show still to this day. This source is a credible article found in the Literature Resource Center database. The author is a professor at University of Alberta in the english and film studies department. This article specifically will give me a lot of useful information. It gives insight into how Shakespeare creates a teenager essence into the characters that does not show up in many of his other works. This article shows how he uses language to create the character’s personalities. I will use this in my research of how Shakespeare uses language to create certain characteristics in the characters of his plays. This will help to explain how it helps in making the characters more personable, and makes the characters easy for the audience to relate

In this scholarly article, Haden introduces his views on the exploitation and unfair compensation of student-athletes by the NCAA. Student-athletes receive absolutely no monetary compensation whatsoever; Hayden proposes a solution to this issue. Haden makes an excellent case stating, “each division I university incorporate “laundry money” into the scholarships of all their student-athletes” (680). The article explains that the best way to compensate student-athletes is to incorporate the use of laundry money into the student-athletes scholarship packages. By doing so, there are not any complications with NCAA rules and regulations therefore, making his article extremely beneficial to my topic. Haden’s views and proposed solution is very helpful for my topic because it has not appeared in any other text I have read. For this reason, he has helped me better understand my issue while also supporting the idea that student-athletes should be compensated for all of their time and effort dedicated to the…

One of the questions that I have pertaining to creating an annotated bibliography in APA format is whether or not the explanations and paragraphs of each reference should be indented the same as the reference. As I was reading the annotated bibliographies samples in the Purdue Online writing lab, I have noticed that the paragraphs under the references are flush with the indentation of the reference and the first sentence of each paragraph is not indented (OWL, 2009). However, as I was reading this week’s lesson and other classmates’ forums and comments here at AMU, I have noticed that the paragraphs are not indented as they are in the Purdue Online writing. This has me confused and I would like to know which is the correct form, AMU or the…

Coming of age happens at different ages for each human but its generally known as the transition from being a child to becoming an adult. It is a time where a person reflects on their own wants and goals, as well as, discovering who they are and finding a companion. When Juliet seeks her Nurse for help, she would do anything to protect her husband,“Oh God! O nurse, how shall this be prevented?/ My husband is on Earth, my faith in heaven” (3.5.216-217). Love is something that humans seek and for Juliet, Romeo was the person she saw as her other half. Her feelings for Romeo is a natural occurrence for humans and the control that love has over humans are regulated by a person’s maturity. If her parents did not introduce Juliet to the idea of marriage, her views for Romeo might not have occurred so soon. “But to be frank and give it thee again./ And yet I wish for the thing I have./ My bounty is as boundless as the sea,/ My love as deep. The more I give to thee,/ The more I have, for both are infinite” (2.2.138-142). Juliet is head over heels in love with Romeo and her feelings for Romeo completely control her emotions. Juliet then seeks acceptance of her relationship from her loved ones but does not receive what she hopes, which creates a whole different type of transitional…
