Anne Frank Made Analysis

Anne Frank, she will be forever remembered for her diary, as a firsthand source of what hiding was like for the people who were hunted. She had stated the following in her last entry: "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.". Why she believed this, we don't know, but we can guess as to what she was like, and how she dealt with her situations. This thesis of mine is probably not completely accurate, nor do I intend for it to be. Some of this quotes are also coming from the play as well, so there my be some differences here or there.

The first point to be made is that Anne knows people can be extremely resilient, and will often try to the good things during hard times. A quote from the play on page 331, lines 470-475 says this: "If we begin thinking of all the horror in the world, we're lost. We're trying to hold onto some kind of ideals... when everything, ideals, hopes... everything, are being destroyed.". When she says this, she's arguing, but she's also trying to tell them not to give up. She's telling them that if one of them gives up, then they'll all lose hope and give up too. When she does this, she is trying to keep things together.
She says the following in the play on page : "I think that the world may be going through a phase, the way i did with mother.". This shows that Anne is able to hang in there because like she said, its just a phase. The war isn't a permanent thing, and they all know that.
