Animal Actors Stage
The Animal Actors Stage found its way to Florida from sunny California in 1998 with the opening of Universal Studios Orlando’s Islands of Adventure. The stage of the show was designed to look more like a Polynesian Island, using carved heads as a featured back drop for the animal performances. The large stone like carvings included a mote like water feature. The set provided multiple entry and exit points for both human and animal performers. The show highlight well trained animals form various movies as well as a segment on animal training and new animal performers.
The show was renamed and transformed in to the Animal Planet Live show in 2001. The show opened with a video welcome form an Animal Planet host, including a short song and animal animation loop with images of live animals. The
This period of time saw an emphasis on animal use at all levels of the entrainment industry. The show was criticized for taking advantage of the primates, but they were a crowd favorite during their tenure and great attention was always payed to their care.
The Animal Plant Live show ended at the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Theme Park in Orlando Florida in closed in 2006. The Animal Plant Live show was replaced by a new show called the Animal Actors Stage on Location. It returned to the Polynesian Island theme as a back drop and highlighted animal stars from various movies, including the pug from Men in Black. In addition, the animal trainers discuss what it takes to train an animal to perform.
The Animal Actors Stage on Location is currently found in the Woody Woodpecker’s Kind Zone. The show runs for 20 minutes and provides an aviary presentation about mid show. The primary animal crew consists of cats, dogs, pigs and birds. A fun filled song section call who let the dogs out is a crowd
