Wildlife Inhumanity within Commercial Entertainment
Opinions are everywhere. Places like SeaWorld, Ringling Brothers Circus, and zoos are thought as commercial entertainment. For decades since both companies started there have been many controversies involve companies abusing or neglecting their animals. Two main opposing arguments about using animals for commercial entertainment are that people in favor of animals in commercial entertainment believe the animals educate the public, whereas people against using animals for commercial entertainment believe that the animals are abused.
If someone wanted to talk about animal abuse that person would talk about is SeaWorld. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, more commonly known as PETA, has for years tried to close SeaWorld’s doors because of their treatment of the killer whales. One reason why People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is mad, SeaWorld’s parking lot is bigger than the killer whale habitat. On television People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has been airing commercials trying to convince people not to go to SeaWorld. SeaWorld responded with their own commercials saying that the whales are being taken care of and if they were not I would not be working here.

Tracy Tullis who has written other articles about animal abuse, wrote the article about a lonely elephant in New York. The Bronx Zoo in New York there is an elephant name Happy, whom has been in seclusion all of her life (Tullis).Being separated from one’s kind or family is not harmless to the elephant’s mental health. After the public heard about Happy’s case they got involved. Someone started a petition which earn over eighty-thousand signatures to gain Happy’s freedom from the Bronx Zoo (Tullis). People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said that Happy needs to be free in the wild or in a place of safety
