Analytical Essay: The Character Of Lena
On the day of Lena's evaluation, she almost gets trampled by a herd of cows that was supposedly sent by an invalid boy who but was never actually comforted in the book. This is a very significant moment in the novel because the invalid is actually Alex and that is the first time Lena saw him, and he left a impression winking at her.
2. She meets Alex officially on a run with her friend Hana. Lena and Hana trespassed and were caught by him and Lena certainly recognized him. That same day Alex arranged a date for Lena and him but when Lena showed up it was to late. They meet again at a forbidden party, where they dance.

Lina got paired with a young adult named Brian Scharff who was supposed to be her husband and they shared a very deep moment of which she understood that there are more people like her than she thinks.
6. Lena has always had a whole in her heart after her mother died. after hearing lots of great stories about Lina's childhood Alex realizes that her mom might still be alive. If she is, she's being held in the Crypts (Portland's creepy mental health asylum). They sneak in to visit her, and find out she is alive but managed to escape. Lina fills will hatred towards her family because she thinks that they have kept her mom a secret this whole time.
7. Instead of living the life her government has chosen for her, Lena decides to escape with Alex into the Wilds and live there. However, the Regulators catch her, locking her up in her own house, and moving her cure to a closer date so she could be saved from Amor Deliria Nervosa (love).
8.Lena vows to kill herself if Alex doesn't save her. one night thanks to Grace who unties her she escapes from the house being greeted by Alex, they were being chased by a crew of people who were trying to lock them up to cure both of them. when the Regulators were catching up Alex told her to climb the fence and run for her life. afterwards he got hot but wasn't
