An Unforgettable Experience Three years ago, I experienced an unforgettable time. I remembered that it was summer holiday. My friend and I attended a basketball course, we wanted to train our skills on playing basketball in order to join the school team. At that time, I was totally fond of basketball and always wish to be one of the players. However, when I was having a exciting competition between my team and my friend's, I was involved in it. I chased after the ball and tried to get some points for my team. But I did not realize that there was another basketball under my legs, I stepped on it without noticing it. I hurt my legs badly! How painful was I at that moment! My friends sent me to the hospital. The doctor claimed that one of my bone is broken and needed an operation immediately. I was very afraid but I gained support from my friends. Luckily, the operation was successful. a few weeks later, my leg recovered. From this unforgettable experience, I learned to be careful and I would not be that careless when I was involved in anything.

A memory from my athletics that will stick with me forever was the last time I was able to lace up and play basketball on our home court. We played a long time rival, Aquin. The game was down to the wire and I was able to tie the game with 24 seconds left. Then we got the ball back and Ellie was fouled with about a second left, which if anyone on our team were to be put on the line, I would choose her. She went up and swooshed the first shot! Then, since Aquin wouldn't be able to get the rebound, make it down the court, and shoot with the time left, coach told her to miss the second shot. Ellie then winded up and chucked the ball right off the backboard so they ended up getting the ball out of bounds anyway. We blocked the throw in, and I ran…

The anticipation of knowing whether we were going to be champions or not was very high as we played our hearts out on the court. Everything we'd practiced for was being put to the test in this one moment. It all came down to this last lay-up. Did we get the point? When I was eleven years old I played recreational basketball with a nearby playground called Susan Park. Me and my little brother both were involved in almost every sport they offered. My favorites were volleyball and basketball. Going to practice was the highlight of my day. I really put my heart into these sports. Our basketball team this particular year was undefeated. As a post player and shooting guard there was a lot of pressure on me to get the ball to the goal at any cost and that's ultimately what I did in every game. It was our championship game and the heat was on like never before. Recruiters from the All-Stars team were there to watch us and pick their favorites so the pressure was definitely on for the players who were looking to take it to the next level. The game starts and we're all basically in the warm-up stage of the game we'd score, they'd score, nothing too intense. All of a sudden we start getting into the climax of the game, only about five minutes left. We were only two points away from beating them and it was up to one person on our team to step up and go for the game winning lay-up, that person was me. There were a few seconds left of the game and we still had to get up the court and to the goal. As the referee blew the whistle my heart sank but I knew what I had to do. The ball was passed to me and with no hesitation I ran down the court as if I was the only person out there and went up for the lay-up like a pro and I made it! This was definitely the best day of my life. The crowd rushed towards me and picked me up just like in the movies, I felt like a star! After the crowd and everything calmed down and came to an end a recruiter from the all-star…

That year we were called the dream team of lacrosse. The major players on the dream team with me were, twins Taylor and Jackson Vroon and Parkes Grisham. Taylor was middy, worked well together on and off the field. His brother, Jackson, was the goalie. He and I were also friends but he always supported me and wanted me to score. Sometimes I even thought he wanted me to score, even more than I did. Our all-star was Parkes Grisham, his cousin plays for the Broncos so I guess sports was in his genes, he was leading scorer on our team and it was the combination of all of us that got me to my goal.…

After that, they stitched up my leg. They thought about stitching my hand, but they decided not to. While they stitched up my leg I watched and asked questions. At first, the doctor did not want to tell me anything because he did not want to scare me, but my dad told him it was alright. Even my dad was too scared to watch what they were doing to me, but I watched the whole thing. I had a total of 11 stitches; seven stitches were internal and five were external.…

Practice had just started, the ball was thrown to me, but it was below my knees and the way I rearranged my body to catch the ball caused my ankle to stick into the ground like a stake holding up a camping tent; it was stuck. My ankle twisted and I was no longer able to walk without a limp. I knew something was wrong. I knew then and there I would have to seek medical help from a doctor, I knew the school trainer could not do anything for me. Soon enough the x-ray results showed a fracture would sideline me for half of the season. Devastation clouded over me and I did not know what to do. I felt as if I was now useless to the team.…

It was one of the most painful injuries that I have ever gone through. It was almost the end of the school year with just two weeks of school left. My high school coach had told us that we can play in soccer class the next day if we brought our cleats. My teammates from my club team told me they weren’t going to bring their cleats because they didn’t want to risk getting an injury before the tournament that weekend. They told me not to play, but I wanted to so I brought my cleats the next day. It was a really nice day to get better and have some fun. We started playing the next day and it was going well and fun just like I would expect it to go. The next thing I see is that everyone starts getting competitive and arguing…

It was at the Hunt Club gym area. When I got there I unpacked my new things. I thought I was so cool because my shoes looked really cute. But in reality most of the girls had those shoes. I looked at the tag and saw boys. I wasn't a boy and I was so confused on why my shoe tag said boys so I asked my coach. Her name was Coach Erica. She explained to me about how it was okay for me to wear boys basketball shoes. After she gave me that talk my whole mood changed. I started to like basketball. We learned what basketball was and worked on dribbling.…
