Personal Narrative: My First Shirt Bike
When I was 7 years old I got my first dirt bike little did I know this was gonna lead to some pain. When I was 9 years old I was minding my own business riding my dirt bike when I hit a tree stump and flew off into a barbwire fence.
I stood up and my arm hurt so bad and I tried to lift it up but it fell straight back down. I had to get home so I had to walk to get to my house. I walked in the house and said “mom there’s something wrong with my arm.” She looked at it and told my dad we would have to go to the hospital. When I got there they cut the arm part of my shirt open and tested me. The doctor came to my room and said “your arm is broken in 2 places and your collarbone is broken.” I was so mad and sad, I got to pick my cast color though and it was orange.

My helmet broke in half and my shirt was cut from the doctor. When I got home my mom said “you won’t be going to school for about 3 weeks or until your collarbone heals.” I was glad about that but I was gonna miss my friends. Also my mom had to wipe my butt and I had to sleep sitting up. The first thing my dad said to me when we got home was “Kylee the doctor said you may never be able to ride a dirt bike again because your break was so severe.” I was so scared dirt biking was my favorite thing to do at that age.
3 weeks went by and I got my sling off, I was so happy. I went back to school and all of my friends signed my cast and wanted me to tell them the story of what happened. 4th graders were interested in the weirdest things I swear. My teacher told me “Kylee you someone will be coming into class and helping you with your work.” It was my left arm that I broke but I still needed some help

Well, as fate would have it, Nick ran into me. The momentum he had on impact, caused me to fall forward, right into a brick wall. I remember the pain running through my arms and face, but nothing hurt as badly as my lip. My first grade teacher came out, and she helped me to the nurse. The nurse called my mother, and told her that I had to go to the hospital. Before my mother got to the school, although she was driving pretty fast, I got to look in the mirror. My upper lip was split open, and did not look pretty. It was bleeding excessively when my mother got to the school. She quickly got me into the car, and we drove off.…

When they got to me, my dad picked me up and carried me to the car. We got in and he drove me home. Then he helped me get out of the car. The pain was so bad I had to hop to the door. Once inside our house, I hopped over to the couch, and laid down.…

The day I took off on my 4 wheeler, and left my Mom and Dad in the dust. It started out awesome and fun, then turned out to be very scary. I was the only kid that year who got a bike and could not ride it. All of my hope and dreams of riding alongside my siblings and friends turned to dust. You see, out of all of my friends I was the only one who did not grasp the concept. Every day after school the kids would zoom by me on their bicycles and there I sat pushing my bike along. After months of pushing my bike, this one summer day I was pushing my bike down the street as I usually did, and my grandmother who unknowing to me had been watching me out of the front door came over to me and said today is the day that you stop pushing this bike. The lesson started my grandmother helped me on the bike and walked along side me holding me up so I could keep my balance, when she let go…

We have an Injury!” Finally, it was dead ball and I could finally hobble off the court to our bench. I had tears streaming out of my eyes like a waterfall when my mom came to assist me. She wanted me to take off my shoe so I started to when suddenly Aysia’s mom told me not to because it would swell up even more than it already was. So then I sat on the bench and patiently waited for our game to finish. The next day I missed school to go and get x-rays and crutches. The crutches were extremely hard to use because I didn’t know how to swing my body with the crutches but eventually I learned. After a prolonged time I received my x-rays and it turns out I had a hairline avulsion fracture so for the next two months I would be stuck in a walking boot and eventually move on to a brace. Now that I have had this experience happen to me I know to now always be careful while…

It was the beginning of my freshman year of highschool when my mom began to see bugs in my food, my mattress, and any place imaginable, or rather the beginning of my mom’s hallucinations. That year I found out my mom was addicted to crystal meth. I could not believe it. We went from watching A&E’s Intervention together, a show about drug addicts, to my mom becoming a drug addict. That is when my world came crashing down. It was the start of one of the most important times of my life and knowing that my mom would not be there to mentally, emotionally, and often physically, support me was tough. It was extremely hard not being able to eat because my mom swore there were bugs in my food to my mattress being thrown out because “it was infested with bedbugs.” It was tough having to call other people to give me a ride to school because my mom was not capable of doing so. Not being able to go to sleep because I was worried my mom would leave in the middle of the night because she was jacked up on meth. But this was just a regular day…

In seventh grade I wanted to tryout for volleyball. I was very nervous because I had never played it before. I was super happy when I found out all my friends and I made the team. We had a lot of practices in December to get ready for games in January. I was really nervous for our first game. Our first game was supposed to be right after christmas break ended, but we had a snow day so it was cancelled. I wished it hadn’t been so I could just get it over with, but i was gonna have to wait. We were scheduled for another game later that week. I woke up with a phone ringing and an answering machine saying that school was cancelled due to boiler issues. I sat in bed thinking I had once again gotten lucky and we had no game, I was wrong. We were…

It was in the middle of 2nd grade when I had a headache and felt really nauseous. My parents thought it might not be serious until they saw the blood in my stool when I was using the bathroom.
