An Analysis Of What To Do?
In this chapter, “What To Do?”, Carl Hoffman visits a lot of places in India. In the starting of this chapter, he plans to visit Bihar. Bihar was the poorest state in India. Carl Hoffman decided to visit there after coming back Bangladesh. The man who was shocked when he saw that Carl Hoffman was talking bus to Patna, I was shocked to while reading it because I know the conditions of the bus while going to Patna was not good. I have never been on a bus in Patna, but I have heard a lot about it. The crime rate in Patna is a lot. No one is safe after 10 PM in Patna.

On the top of page 202, Carl Hoffman says that he is from Washington DC and which is also highest murder rate in U.S., so he was not that scared taking bus to Patna, but I have heard a lot about both places and in my point of view, Patna is a dangerous place than Washington DC. I like how on page 203, Carl Hoffman described the atmosphere of Patna which is so true. I know how Carl Hoffman might be feelings at that moment. Patna is the capital and largest city of Bihar and it's a second largest populated city after Kolkata. So that's was the reason why Patna is so crowded and people are always busy in their own work. No one talks to you unless you start the conversation. It is a very busy city of Bihar.

In India, all the people do the same thing like dancing in the bus. Once I was traveling to another city in India which was a lot far away from my house and I had to take a bus, we were watching a movie on the bus and all of the sudden the song came and all the people got up and started dancing in the bus. It was very cool experience at that

Boo examines India’s unequal opportunities for upward mobility through the eyes of several individuals she came to know over the course of her time in Annawadi. Through the use of “written notes, video recordings, audiotapes, and photographs” (Boo, 2012, p. 249), as well as “three thousand public records” (Boo, 2012, p. 250), Boo immersed herself within the lives of these people with a determination to share their stories. Much of her focus is placed on the Husain family and the false accusation that devastates their lives. Abdul, the eldest Husain son, has simple dreams of a wife and family and thinks…

As this novel so beautifully describes the constraints of migrants residing in the urban slums of Mumbai, development does not benefit everyone. In ‘Development and the City’ it is well iterated that India holds two-thirds of the world poor with a continually increasing population that is expected to surpass that of China in the next decade. Unfortunately this means that the current problems are only going to become even more exaggerated as development is unable to keep up with urbanization. Although there has been progress “in which many of India’s old problems- poverty, disease, illiteracy, child labour- were being aggressively addressed” many others have not, including “corruption and exploitation of the weak by the less weak” (28). Therefore, it would appear that the longer India avoids investing in their poorer urban population through development in infrastructure, heath care and education, the worse the situation will become.…

Do The Right Thing is a fictional narrative that surrounds an Italian restaurant in the middle of a black neighborhood. Do The Right Thing does something that no other film was able to do, which is, “… present the aspects of the culture - language, dress, attitude, music - in a realistic context…” (Donalson 23). Donalson was correct - this film didn’t just serve to depict the random lives of a community, but rather the political and racial tension their community (and, I imagine, the rest of the United States) is undergoing in the 1980s. It’s a very special film because it doesn’t need to introduce the audience to the hip-hop culture and it most certainly does not romanticize it.…

Several dilemmas have come to light with recent bills. Quite a few have been very controversial in nature. There have been bills proposed over cold beer sales, regulation of abortion, cannabidiol oil (low THC extract), and Sunday liquor sales. The ethical dilemmas caused people to have strong and mixed feelings about each. In the world of public policy and public administration, ethical decisions are not a rare occurrence. This especially true of right versus right decisions. Though it may not seem like right versus right decisions for legislators, because one option does not align with their platform, but for many that are on the outside looking in, they can see how either choice is an ethically correct decision. I haven’t taken any classes…

There he was with an uncertain look on his face as he stared at the Armed Forces Recruiting Center. Remembering everything he has already been through in his life as far as completing high school and making some poor decisions in his young life. As he went to open the door he walked up he remembered a famous quote that he had read about in history class, which read, “some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they’ve made a difference. The Marines don’t have that problem” President Ronald Reagan. That quote was one of the reasons why he wanted to make a change in his life to give back to others instead of always taking everything for granted.…

My inspiration for Make the Right Decisions Early arose from observing the thousands of students who graduate from college each year. Many of them leave college with as little idea what to do with their professional lives than when they first set foot on campus four years earlier. The university system continues to present itself as a means for someone to enter the working world and succeed. Yet it fails to specifically define the role that it actually plays. While college presents itself as a guide, it is really just a tool, and one that students need to know how to use properly and to their advantage.…

Dhaka became unexpectedly warmer after a week's unusual cold. The airhostess in Biman Bangladesh welcomed the passengers immediately after they stepped into its cozy comfortable cabin and made everyone laugh. She said, "Welcome to the cold winter in Bangladesh." Thanks BELTA people who had already informed us individually and through their website www.belta-bd.org. The plane flew high. It flew higher and much higher. It could scale the sky over the cloud; it made its way breaking the cloud; and I was sensing the thrill of its ascending height. It made me think about the height of my destination. The plane landed on Shahjalal International Airport. For me it was a beginning since I had not scaled any professional height so far. For me it was a move in the runway. For me this was the first attempt to offer myself as a competent learner in the crowd of such a mega ELT event outside Nepal. At the same time, I should collect some influences of the people and nature in Dhaka and around.…
