American Hydroformers Increases Capability for Specialized Welding Technique

(1888 PressRelease) With the addition of a Trumpf 6000 TLF 6000 TURBO Welding Laser, American Hydroformers has improved their specialized welding abilities and capacity.

Fort Wayne, IN - American Hydroformers (http://www.americanhydroformers.com/) announces the addition of a Trumpf 6000 TLF 6000 TURBO Welding Laser in order to meet customer demands for increasingly specialized welding techniques. As an alternative to traditional welding techniques, the Trumpf 6000 TLF 6000 TURBO Welding Laser offers a combination of precision and speed, with the potential for increased complexity. As an extension of their current capabilities, the addition of the Trumpf 6000 TLF 6000 TURBO Welding Laser continues to position American Hydroformers as a leader in the tube hydroforming, metal forming industry.

The Trumpf 6000 TLF 6000 TURBO welding laser is perfectly adept in creating a specialized Transfer Tube cell. American Hydroformers is able to form two different diameter tubes of the same length. The two tubes are pressed together, forming a tight fit between them. The outer tube has 3 lobe formations pressed into it that creates a chamber between the inner and outer tube. Typically these parts are used in tractor-trailer type trucks as a component of the automatic transmission and work similar to a rotating hydraulic manifold.

Most people thing Fire, and water, are something that can not come together in a friendly and productive way. However, it all starts with a chamber, most refered to as the “Hyperbaric Chamber”. The habitats that are selected to be used for welding, have slight bumps in the water surface, giving the welder/welders, a slight chamber of air to work with down underwater for the equipment. There are two teams needed for an underwater welding job to get done, the welding team, which usually consists of two or three welders, and the surface team. The surface team is up their with radios, and a pump, that both communicate with the welders and divers, and also they are continuously pumping more air to them, the more air they have to work with, the more comfortable they are and also the better the work down there. The continuous fluctuation of air down in the chamber allows most of the toxic fumes to be thrown out. Without this, the welders would more than likely suffocate and die. The electrode consists of the cathode (negatively charged) and the Anthodia (Positively charged), and around the electrode is a water proofed coating. Without this type of welding, many bridges and different buildings, and docks, would have never been…

Welding with a rod is called SMAW (Stick Metal Arc Welding), you will absolutely need to know the type of welding if you are planning to be a pipeliner. SMAW is one of the hardest types of welding to master, and it is the most effective. Most welders start off by learning how to weld with a rod. There are also two more types of welding along with brazing and oxyacetylene cutting. GTAW better known as tig or tungsten arc welding is absolutely the hardest type of welding to learn mostly because you need very steady hands and good hand-eye coordination. GTAW is used to weld very thin metals such as aluminum, copper, etc. GMAW is the easiest type of welding and can be used for mostly anything. Some beginners use this if they cant get SMAW down, this is just an easier route. GMAW isn’t the strongest weld to put on something you want to hold a lot of pressure or something you want to last for a very long…
