Advantages Of Having A Varsity Team Essay
Should UOG have a (varsity) sports team?
Students who love to play sports will agree to have a team because they would want to compete and challenge other varsity teams. Not only do they want to experience playing, having a varsity team can be a motivation for student athletes to perform well in school and give them an opportunity to play in professional sports as a career. Moreover, the schools unity can become much more connected and expand its place on the map.
Whether it is basketball, volleyball, baseball, or any other kind of sport, students would want to have the experience of playing against other varsity teams from different universities. Students would want to play in a higher level, which would make them become a better athlete.

It can be difficult to have a team because it may be too expensive. For instance, transportation can be an immense factor. There are over fifty universities in United States, and the expenditures to fly back and forth may not be easy. It may be possible, but the expense may be too much to afford. The cost of air fares for how many people and how many days, and while arriving, they would then spend for a hotel to stay and also provide meals to eat. It may not be easy to handle counting how many teams there are going to be. Each team must have a coach, which would lead to additional expenses. Then come in the uniforms. Every team needs it, and it will cost extra. It may save a little to have other University teams come here to play as well, but that is another question. Will it be a safe environment? Would crowds go crazy and hate on other teams? Will there be sportsmanship or instead cause rivalry against other schools?
In my opinion, UOG should have a varsity sports team because it will bring great opportunities for the school and for the students. Competing in sports is a popular tradition, and students will take pride in themselves and their school when teams are representing them at other places. Another positive element for having a varsity team is the encouragement and motivation it can bring for students to achieve higher grades in school. It may be costly, but the sacrifice is worth

Athletics is ingrained in the human experience and is an integral part of American culture. Because of that, many of my weekends and after school hours have been dedicated to either watching a game or starting one with the kids in the neighborhood. Athletics runs deep in my family. My great uncle was a professional baseball player and my family, including my father, three brothers and a sister, are all very involved with the various team sports. It’s this immersion into various sporting activities that has led me to the understanding that engaging in athletics has a very positive impact in our lives. Additionally, sports are extremely important in building one’s character through hard work, learning to work with others on a team and by learning how to cope with the joy of winning and the inevitability of losing.…

The ECU Club Team travels and plays against schools across North Carolina, the nation, and the American Athletic Conference. ECU’s Men's Club Soccer Team has accomplished many achievements. In 2012 and 2013, they qualified for regional's twice, in Georgia and Tennessee, and attended Nationals once, in Phoenix, Arizona. I feel with those results that having a Varsity Team would not be a bad investment. Many Americans, as well as, International students are a part of the Club Soccer Team. The ECU Club Team is full of some of the best soccer players at ECU and in the nation. We have quality players attending ECU and bringing the Varsity Team back would give them a chance to expose their talents to the…
