CHAPTER 1
Introduction

Coffee shops are famous nowadays, especially to businessmen for they usually have their business meetings in a coffee shop. In Los Baños, coffee shops are starting to become a popular hangout place even for students. The coffee shops in Los Baños are the following: Café Antonio, Ristretto, Black & Brew, Dairymoor, Cofee Blends, Café Verde, Boston Café/One Caldi, Having a coffee shop business can be profitable but it needs to be different from others as well. A coffee shop should have ways and features of being unique in order to garner a lot of customers. This action research paper is a study of knowing what coffee shop is the most preferred in Los Baños – for coffee shops are starting to be an in demand business in Los Baños. This study specifically aims to determine the following objectives: 1. What is the most preferred coffee shop of the people from Los Baños? 2. Why do a lot of people tend to go to coffee shops even though the prices are a bit high? 3. What features do people look for in a coffee shop? 4. What encourages the customer to frequently go to a certain coffee shop instead of going to another one?

This study is significant because having a coffee shop for business is starting to be in demand as a business. The study will help the businessmen, who are thinking of putting up a business with the same concept, gain customers and to not have their money put into waste by already knowing what people look for when they go to coffee shops. Also, having this study will help the present coffee shop owners to improve their business. Lastly, by having an in demand business such as a coffee shop, it will greatly help the country’s economy.
For the data gathering method, the researcher will provide a set of questionnaire. For this study, the researcher’s target respondents are those people who live around the area in the place of the study and who frequently visits a coffee shop in the same area as well. After acquiring
