Achieving College Football's Success
“Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom”(George S. Patterson). In life odds are that you will not reach your goal on your first try. In fact, you’ll get knocked down or out of your path multiple times in your life. So it's good to have multiple plans in your life. My goal is to play football after high school, but I realize there is a good chance that won't happen. Either the team I want to play for doesn’t offer me or just that I wasn’t good enough. My goal and dream is to play college football.
Why do I want to play college football? Well because I love football. I love the thrill of playing under the lights. I love the whole crowd cheering as loud as they can. I love the competition, I love to win. There is nothing better than when you make a great play and the whole entire student section is chanting your name. Nothing beats running and celebrating with all the fans after you just win an important game. Friday nights are the

It will take blood, sweat, and tears to accomplish my goal. Goals do not “just” happen you have to work for them. You will have your ups on the way to your goal but you will also have downs. I got my chance to shine last year when someone got hurt. I took advantage of an opportunity and made into success. I had to work as hard as I could. I had to overcome disadvantages of being too “small” or too “slow” and not “tall” enough. I had to prove that I could to play. When you are smaller than everyone else you have to play like you are tallest and try harder than the other person. My coach and my dad will play the biggest role in helping me achieve my goal.
My goal is important to me because It is what I love. In life, you may not always achieve your goal so you have to have a plan b or even a plan c. In my life my real goal is to be happy and to be healthy and have a great family. But my goal as of right now is to play college football. I plan to do anything I have to do so I can reach my

My parents always made sure they put me in every sport I wanted to keep their chubby-cheeked, energized, wide-eyed five year old happy. I’m sure they’d do just about anything to keep me from throwing my famous slamming door tantrums. I participated in youth soccer, dance class, t-ball, basketball and probably a couple others as well. My dreams of becoming a professional athlete were certainly in the makings.…

Growing up, I was never naturally athletic and very injury prone. Regardless of these issues, I always remained determined and strived to accomplish my goals. As I enter high school one of my main goals was to make the varsity tennis team. During my freshmen year I practiced every day for the first 3 months of school hoping that I could just make the team. Unfortunately I tore a ligament in my wrist for the second time which prevented me from practicing till right before the tennis season started. I ended barely making the JV team which was very disappointing, but it only motivated me for next year. In my heart I knew that I if I was determined enough I could play varsity next year on my own merit. As I progressed through the sophomore year,…

Without goals you have nothing to work towards. Some of the goals I have set for myself this year are to get into a high school program. The programs I would like to be in are Computer Science at Freehold Boro, Medical Science at Freehold Boro, or International Baccalaureate program and Freehold Township. I plan on achieving this goal by studying hard, getting good grades, and always striving for more. Another goal I have set for myself is to make the playoffs this year in football. I plan on achieving this goal by working hard at practice and getting all my teammates to work hard also. If I achieve these goals I think I will have an even more honorable…

The other side does have legitimate reasons even if they do not outweigh the positives of college football. The first is that college is meant for academic purposes. While college is a great place for one to increase their knowledge I also see college as a place that helps people grow up and take that next step in life, whether that next step is getting an engineering based job or playing sports professionally. Both provide financially and both have time commitments so I do not see a difference. Personally I do not think it is fair for people to make college only academic…

You earn recognition, all your playing time, and a starting position through hard work. I grew up playing all kinds of different sports. I played baseball, football and later in life I started to swim competitively. In each case, I had to learn to take the responsibility to do my part—for myself and for my teammates. Practice was mandatory and took priority over other interests of mine. This was hard for me, since I missed out on school dances, family activities and other fun events because I had to be at practice everyday. It also forced me to learn good time management skills as I started to balance school, a social life, daily two-hour practices and games on the weekends. The coaches can only teach so much and, while they tried, couldn’t force me to learn my plays or study in my off time. I knew my hard work was paying off when my coach would say, “Good job Gunnar, I’m proud of you!” That one sentence made me realize that my hard work had paid off and that I should continue to work even harder, not only in sports but also in everything I…

For example: one of my goals is graduating. Not only do I just want to graduate, I want to graduate with my associates degree. I’m also determined to work hard this school year and the next three that follow to complete my goal. Another goal I would love to complete is getting a doctorate in the profession, I decide to take part in. One more goal I’m working hard at is getting good grades. I feel a succeeding grade point average is three-point eight. Even though I see that as succeeding, I’m still going to try to get a three-point nine grade point average or higher overall this school year and the following school years. So, those are just some of my goals I would like to complete. I have many more goals I hope to complete, with hard work hopefully my goals will be completed.…

Without college sports, many students wouldn’t have an understanding about what the college world is. The largest thriving sports network within college athletics is college football and college basketball. These sports generate not only hometown fans, they can influence out of state fans as well while also creating super fans who will devote their academic career to a school based off of their favorite sports team. Many true college sports fans don’t usually just like a school for the players on the team though, they love it for the rich tradition that lurks beyond the field. Rivalries games like Michigan vs. Ohio State, USC’s trojan horse, Florida state’s seminole mascot throwing the spear on the field before the game begins, traditions like these have the greatest influence on fans and students which makes them want to look into the school more to understand the requirements that a student must meet in order to be accepted into the college of their dreams.…
