Good Role models should have achieved a lot in life. Athletes have to be good or they will

be kicked off the team.Musicians should have dedication to finish the music they start. Movie stars

have to have experienced a lot to be able to act good. I think celebrities are good role models

because they set high goals, show endless possibilities, and are good influences.

Goals need to be high but still reachable. Everyone should have a plan for the future.

Getting a job is one thing that takes time and patience. There are many different lifestyles to

choose from and to set as a goal. Dedication and responsibility are traits that come in handy when

    Athlets have been lookd up to as role models for as long as sports have exsted. There is just something attractive about the thought of being in good physical condition and being talented in sports. But, are athlets the kind of people that children should be looking up to for direction and guidance? Many children often look up to the professional athletes as role models. In fact, in 1995 Sports Illustrated for Kids did a survey for kids who were ages 7 through 12 about who their role model was. The majority of the kids answered that a professional athlete was who they most looked up to. Only four percent of the children answered that their role model was one of thir parents. Because of today?s media, athletes are constantly in the public eye. Everything they do on and off of the playing field. Some professional athletes speak a positive message through their fame by demonstrating constructive ideas such as teamwork and commitment while they are on the field. Even off of the playing field some athletes set a good example by visiting children in schools, going to hospitals, or even setting up foundations and organizations to help the ill and less fortunate people. However, other athletes are not as considerate to the fact that someone may be looking up to them, some athletes are not concerned about anything other than the sport they are getting paid to play and themselves. These athletes are the ones that propose questions over whether athletes should be considered role models or not. A role model can be defined as a person whose behavior, example or success is or can be emulated by others, especially young people. Who would want their child looking up to someone who has been convicted of domestic violence or has a drug addiction? It is an argument of opinion that cannot be settled.…

    As we all heard our favorite actress Reese Witherspoon was arrested in the peach city of Atlanta, Georgia. For those who don’t know who she is she stared in the movie “Legally Blonde.” She was the good girl of Holy wood until that night. She used those cocky words “ Do you know who I am”, now normally you hear those words in the movie, but this is reality. My topic is “ Should celebrities or professional athletes be viewed as role models”. I said they shouldn’t be viewed as role models because it seems like the time you say someone is your role model the next couple of days they are being arrested for something. For example, most young boys and girls who have dreams of playing basketball look at Kobe Bryant as a role model, but little did they know he was arrested in 2003 sexual battery charges. Of course these charges didn’t interfere with Kobe’s talent, but it kind of interfered with his image as a professional basketball player. And of course we can’t forget about the young Lindsey lohan. She was known for her role in “ freaky Friday” and guest starred in the comedy 2 in a half men. Most of her friends didn’t see her as trouble, but she was. She was arrested for stealing , D.U.I , and drug use. She has recently gone into rehab to fix her ways. These are a few examples of why MOST celebrities shouldn’t be viewed as role models. Please don’t mix my words up because I’m not saying that all celebrities aren’t good role models.…
