According To Rick Wormeli's Homework?
This video talks about homework and how much it should count in our gradebook. Rick Wormeli wants us to know that homework is a practice that brings back the memory of what we have learned in class. It is better to give practice assignments in class to test student’s capability because students are easily distracted at home and as a result they do not get their homework done on time or they forget to bring it to class. So how much does homework matter to a student who make a 100% on all exams and quizzes but fails to do his or her homework? According to Rick, homework is 100% irrelevant as to the report of what students know but it is relevant for them coming to know it. A grade is a report of our end result. Victor, a character in the story “Seventh Grade” by Gary Soto changes in the story many times, including being nervous, being embarrassed, and being happy. In the first place, at the beginning of the story, Victor is nervous about whether or not Teresa will like him. In the text it states “He raised his eyes slowly and looked around. No Teresa. He lowered his eyes, pretending to study, then looked slowly to the left. No Teresa. He turned a page in the book and stared at some math problems that scared him because he knew he would have to do them eventually. He looked at the right. Still no sign of her. He stretched out lazily in an attempt to disguise his snooping.”(Soto 1). This displays that Victor is nervous because he tries to see whether…

Moreover, homework isn't only wasting the student's time but the teachers time as well. By marking and grading homework, teachers are wasting their time. So teachers, please don't blame us the we wasted your time. Some people assume that homework is useful for teachers to watch student's progress but I firmly believe that homework is sent home to test the parents, not the children. I think that teachers can watch the student's progress in school better because teachers don't know that at home who did the homework, the parent, the student or the internet (Google)??????? People also think that homework helps parents to understand that the school holds high goals for students. But, I consider that school work is harder than homework and that means that parents can understand that the school holds higher goals than they think. Furthermore, homework becomes terrible if no one can help you. If no one can help you then you are doing work that you don’t understand, and if you don’t understand it what’s the point having the work that you can’t even do. I really, strongly believe that more kids would stay in school and have a better learning experience if they did not have the stress of homework.…

    1. Long-distance commerce acted as a motor of change in pre-modern world history by altering consumption and daily life. Essential food and useful tools such as salt were traded from the Sahara desert all the way to West Africa and salt was used as a food preserver. Some incenses essential to religious ceremonies were traded across the world because there was a huge demand for them. Trade diminished economic self-sufficiency by creating a reliance on traded goods and encouraged people to specialize and trade a particular skill. Trade motivated the creation of a state due to the wealth accumulated from controlling and taxing trade. Trade posed the problem of if the government or private companies should control it. Trade spread religious ideas, technology, plants and animals and diseases.…

Parents are meant to help children with many different issues that arise. However, when it comes to homework, should parents intervene? This controversial topic is a huge debate among teachers nationwide. Parents should not get too involved in their children's homework because it makes it difficult for teachers to access the students’ understanding of the concept taught, the student will most likely lose the responsibility to do their own homework then later start to depend only on their parents, and although some may argue that if parents get involved it will show the child that school is important, students need to realize their parents will not always be present to encourage them.…

Since Roberto Nevilis introduced it to the world as a punishment in 1905, there have been many arguments to whether or not homework should be required. What initially started as punishment for kids who messed around in class has become a mandatory task that all students are required to do daily. I’m here to end that, I intend to show you that students should not be required to complete homework for a grade. Homework consumes too much time and leaves no space for extracurricular activities and causes health problems. On top of that, many students don’t even have the resources required to complete the homework. Despite these things, homework is still a graded assignment that if failed to complete, can drastically bring down a student's grade.…
