62 Describe The Role Of Schools
6.2 Describe the role of schools in national policies relating to children, young people and families

Schools are involved in many national policies. Our school has to know in detail what they are about and what we need to do to follow these policies. Schools can also be involved in policies that are being trialled to roll out nationally too. This helps with developing new ideas. An example of a policy that all schools must be involved in is the Every Child Matters framework. This is an important national policy and has had a wide ranging impact on provisions for children and young people. There is also the community cohesion too. Schools have and are developing their central roles within communities. Including Flying Bull. Schools are also assessed on this element by Ofsted. Our school makes its own policies too but they must be in line with national requirements, such as child protection and safe guarding children.
