In the 1880’s, American industry grew due to many factors including “the emergence of a talented and often ruthless group of entrepreneurs” (Brinkley 396). According to those in favor of these entrepreneurs, these men worked hard, innovated technology and strategized competitively to transform the American economy; these “Captains of Industry,” such as Andrew Carnegie, Cornelius Vanderbilt, J Pierpoint Morgan and John D. Rockefeller, used their wealth to help their communities and should be honored for their philanthropy. An advocate for these entrepreneurs is John S. Gordon. As a specialist of business and financial history, Gordon claims…
There are five leadership skills that are essential to acquire as a leader. These skills can help overcome complicated problems and issues that a leader could face on a daily basis. Skills such as collaboration rather than heroics and building and mending relationships; these can help with learning different ways to approach others in the organization as well as engage and motivate. Choosing the way to manage between being heroic and being engaging will determine what type of a leader one is going to grow into. Change also involves relationships, and maintaining a good relationship with others in the workplace is not an easy task. However, the task becomes easier when one tries to learn about what others enjoy, what they strive in, and by taking this information and analyzing it, the leader can find ways to build the relationship and fuel the relationship, come up with new ideas for building relationships, etc.…
Over the past three semesters all I have been hearing about is IDEA, 504, CHILD FIND, NCLB, and all of the other programs that are in place to make sure that children are not left on their own if they are in need of extra help inside or outside of the classroom. Each time any of these programs were mentioned I would always wonder about the process that a school would follow to qualify a student under these special services. I have never been exposed to the process, just told when a child was "special Ed" or "mainstreamed" in my internship classroom. I know that there has to be several steps involved in this process, otherwise there would be some major issues with parents and other professionals, when you tell them "I think your child needs special services." I also know that there has to be more than one persons opinion involved and, as in every aspect of school, parents must be completely involved and in control.…

Although Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung began as colleagues, Jung being the younger of the two, they both had different ideas about the study of psychology and it’s theories. Jung once followed Freud and conducted research with him however he came to develop his own theories which were in contrast to Freud’s ideas. In fact Jung rejected many of Freud’s theories later in his career. While the two were different they also were very much alike. They both studied the unconscious and the way in which it affected an individual and to what extent. The primary differences they had in their careers are very interesting to look at.…
