1. Purpose of the Project Charter
A project Charter ensures that everyone with a stake in the project’s success has fundamental knowledge about the project and is working towards the same objectives. It increases the feasibility of the project work plan by creating a common understanding of the individual roles and responsibilities, timelines, deliverables, and processes. It is a critical project management tool, serving as a reference to keep the project on track and focused, and can help mitigate issues throughout the project by providing a source of information about the project structure and goals. The Project Charter should be formally endorsed by the project sponsor.
