Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide an empirical research based discussion of how effective recruitment and selection practices by an organization’s human resources team gains a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Although there are numerous debates regarding the immediate value of human resources in organizations, this paper will examine some of the reasons why there should be no debate about the value of the HR team with respect to how effective recruitment and selection increases an organization’s competitive advantage. Some research questions include how should the HR team operate within an organization to fulfill the goal of gaining a competitive advantage in the marketplace? And, what environmental factors should be considered in order to maintain this advantage? This paper
