Senior Project Proposal
Project
For my senior project I chose photography. I chose this topic because a photo can capture any memory, history or emotion and never change, even when history, memories and emotions are. My hours will be spent learning new vocabulary and learning how to capture a photo of anything from a calm nature scene to a fast-paced hockey game. The product of my project will be printed photos that I have taken over the course of my project. I will demonstrate my knowledge to the judges through a slide show of my slowly improved photos. I have asked and chosen Matt Moehr as my mentor; he is qualified to be my mentor because he is the professional photographer for the Star News. I will spend my hours photographing hockey games, high school sports and taking senior photos for my fellow peers and other students from McCall-Donnelly high school. I will spend approximately 200 dollars on this project. I will pay for this project through my job at DeLish Catering.
Challenge
Photography will be a challenge because I will have to gain the ability to photograph something ordinary and make it absolutely extraordinary. My mother is a photographer, I showed interest in photography when my mother began doing it because she makes everything she photographs an amazing moment. My prior knowledge is very little although I have taken trips with my mother to take photograph of people and nature. This project will challenge my prior knowledge of photography because I know very little about photography. This project stretches beyond my comfort zone because I will have to become close to my mentor and my camera, it will also stretch out of my comfort zone because I will have to associate with sports teams and people that are unknown to me frequently. This project is involved with my current hobbies and pursuits because, after my project is completed, there is a possibility of

In my case, I would state that I dont need any more chiefs on this project when I need Indians for the tribe. Meaning I have enough eyes on me, but I could use some help in on the actual project itself. I would think if they trusted Jim with a project like this they would have given him the reigns and stop hovering over his shoulder. In a since, with the appointment of Bob Petroski and sally Fukuyama on the team they have all but taken away the full credit of the project of Jim. They have forced Jim into a lose-lose situation. The success of the project would be taken by the cronies of the department head and the Chief operating officer and the failure would fall solely into Jims lap. In the United States wild fires are very common during the dry season also known as summer. Although they are occurring all over the united states I would like to bring your attention to the following states, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and also Idaho. In the past few fire seasons these states have had an increase in the number of fires that have been started due to natural storms and human related accidents. They are becoming more frequent due to the current conditions of the forests and lack of up keep on the vegetation. Along with the growing frequency of these fires the intensity level of the fires are also increasing as a result of the over populated forest. With the ever increasing fire intensity the forest firefighters are in more danger now than ever. To what extent should people begin to be concerned about the growing forest fire problem? People should become concerned when the problem is continuing to escalate and becoming a growing problem. This growing problems is beginning to effect myself first hand due to where I live also with my family members who are in the wildfire fighting field. My oldest brother Chris works for Boise Dispatch, My brother Hoby is on an engine crew in McCall Idaho, My youngest brother works for Pat- Rick fire crew out of Boise Idaho, and lastly my father Dale works for Thunder Mountain Catering. They cater to the firefighters stationed on the larger fires so that they don't have to eat MRE's (Dehydrated meals ready to eat). Also during the fire season the air is thick with a gray haze covering the Treasure valley. This often happens when there are numerous fires burning around the area. Due to the current conditions of the forests these fires are becoming more frequent and also more intense.…

Throughout the course of my junior year, I have been challenged to be the best artist of my ability. As a graphic designer, I have learned to view things in a different light and learned to express my creativity. Although I am still learning new things everyday about how to become a better artist, I have improved tremendously in every way ranging from the thought process all the way to finalizing each project, and I think that as the days go by I will continue to do well in my high school graphic design career, but in continuing my education in this major and working in a field closely related to it. I have produced at least 5 projects that reflect my passion for graphic design including the New York World’s Fair, currency recreation, and the handmade film poster from the first semester of my junior year and from the second half up until my most recent project, a book jacket, and an organic drink package design.…

One, I have never realized how just one photograph can stop a moment in time. Freeze all emotions, actions, and thoughts. To be able to do that is a real special talent. And if the picture is a good picture, a person is able to guess what the person(s) is feeling, saying, and thinking in the photo. And the other realization I made was when you look at an old picture you start to feel nostalgic and filled with wonder. A wonder that takes you into the photograph’s world and gives you a taste of what the time period was like. A good picture, in my opinion, should tell a story. And most pictures do that because the photographer is telling the story of their life through the pictures they take. At the beginning of this term, I was very confused and didn’t have a clue on what to do or what to take pictures of. I continued to be confused and nervous when I developed my first roll of film, when I made my first proof/contact sheet, and when I made my first picture. Slowly everything I learned from this class and what I knew previously came together; I became more confident as the term progressed. So confident, I was asked to help other students make proof sheets and pictures. With wanting to go into the photographing world, this class helped me recognize what a good picture and photographer needs to become successful. The process of winding film, developing film, creating test strips, and finally, printing the image is a long process to say the least. I feel grateful with the technology we do have; for example, digital cameras, memory cards, photo printers at…

This summer I decided to do my senior project on mechanics and auto body detailing. During the processes of my senior project I learned many new skills. For example I learned how to weld and work on engines. I started working around May and saved up some money to buy myself a decent looking truck. I spent 2,200 dollars on my truck. Which I said to myself, “Wow that is very cheap” yet it actually wasn’t so much. After I bought the truck, I started driving it around and after a week of driving it I knew something was not right.…

"There is no friend as loyal as a book" -Ernest Hemingway. I fabricated my senior project to inspire the younger generation to read and take home books. I believe that knowledge can be power when an individual finds something they enjoy. Books are universal and are being replaced with electronics. With all the insane things going on in the world how pleasant is it to crack open up a novel, and be taken into a different universe with imagination. That is the idea of my project to provide a readable piece of happiness. The goal of this is to do exactly what it says. Exchange a new book for an older one of yours, and to give people an opportunity to read. From there I had gathered up material from family members. Accordingly constructed a “take…

Through a picture we have a record not only of our past, but of our present as well. We can consider the medium of photography to be a supreme witness and recorder of the world, and the life we have fashioned upon it. Photographers record wars, injustices, poverty, human misery, and human joy.…
