The activity I planned was based on fine motor development skills. The activity I set was a shopping role play area. The shopping role play area had food, baskets and a till. The till had buttons to open it up and coins inside. This was set up in a small area of the classroom and there was five children taking part.…

I think that I was very effective in implementing the activity as I asked relevant question and gave all the children a chance to be physically involved and help with something. However I wasn't very effective in challenging the more able children and if I was to do this activity again I would prepare something a little harder for the children that find it easy as children need to be challenged in order to achieve the best of their ability. They also need work that is to their standards to keep them interested. As I failed to do this some children found it too easy and therefore became bored.…

Blue’s class she reminded them of the Bill Nye video that they had watch, and the kids remember lots of things from the video. This was a great way to get the students engaged and to help with a visual representation. She also gave each of them a chance to explain their reason and definitions with the whole class. She kept the students engaged by having them all take turns reading and highlight as they went along. Her role was to present questions for the students, who were to think about the answer and then share with one another. It was a good idea to spilt the students in to partners to discuss. In Mr. G’s he explained that the students had only been giving him work that was about fifty percent effort. He did allow for students to take out there phone and take pictures of the board to make sure they had the information. They also were very good at reading along with him and answering his questions out of the book. I think it was a good idea to get the students more engaged in the learning process, by working in smaller groups together. These are both great examples of their responsibility as a teacher to create good creative and instructive…

My second activity was called Electrical Static Ball, it was a plug in electrical static ball, my aim was to get the children to investigate why when they touch the static ball the electricity comes to them and doesn’t hurt them. I also wanted to teach them about the safety side of electricity so all of the children knew how to avoid it. I plugged the static ball into the computer and as soon as it went on the children…

If students whizzed through the activity and then looked rather bored then it would be obvious that the task was a bit too easy and not really suitable or beneficial for that group. So you would need to try and make it more engaging and stimulating, perhaps by making it more difficult or time-consuming so the students really have to work to complete it.…

We played adding and subtracting games with blocks to improve math skills, wrote stories about different topics to improve reading and writing skills, built volcanoes to improve science skills, and arts and crafts. I came up with each activity on my own to accomplish the goal of creating a fun, yet educational learning environment for the students. At the end of the day other counselors and myself brought the students together for enrichment, a time for the children to let loose and be themselves. That was a time for the kids to dance, play sports, or just sit around and nap that was their time to rule the building. Outside of the site the students went on field trips that allowed them to be kids. The most memorable trip that was taking was our tip to Old Mississippi State Capitol where we learned about the history of our…

I have learned a lot since the beginning of the fall of 2015. A main thing I learned while teaching was to always lay the equipment out before starting an activity. In addition, I learned that it is extremely important to be on time in order to set up all the equipment. Another thing I learned was to eliminate the elimination. By this, I mean when planning/creating games, it is important that each student is fully participating in the activity. An example of this is giving each student a beanbag to throw rather than having only a few beanbags out. Another main thing I learned during the teaching was to go over critical elements before playing a game/activity.…

The majority of the students had a fun and enjoyable lesson which was one of the objectives of the class. The other objective was to know what a ‘dynamic’ is in dance. I feel all students had a clear understanding of this by the end of the session and demonstrated different dynamics in dance and could also talk about this at the end of the session.…
