PREFACE
ORIENTATION 1 WELCOME

Welcome to the challenging world of business management. I trust that you will find your learning experience during the academic period both stimulating and rewarding. To ensure that you build enthusiasm for the subject, I advise you to thoroughly read this orientation section. Let me start by explaining the concept of business management. Business management looks at how a business is managed, how it is divided into different functional areas, and how these areas are managed according to the value chain approach. Business management involves management of the various functions of business (their interaction and interdependence), which leads to inputs being converted into outputs that create value for the customer.
