The Barn Burning discussion changed a lot about what I thought about the story especially on the motives of the father. I think this was mostly because I didn’t fully understand the story when I read it for the first time. So in hearing the discussion‚ I can really see the connection between the class system and the bitterness the father felt for his lot in life that I changed how I felt about his motives.
