In Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick each story brings a unique idea to the book. My personal favorite one of the short stories was the the fourth one "The Painter." I find that this is my favorite because it is not as dark as the other stories. It still gives us insight into the main themes of love and sacrifice.
