I) ELL Stage II: Grades 1-2 (Listening and Speaking)
A)Per-Emergent Level – This student is at the level of no communication in English. 1)To help this student learn how to speak and listen in the English language this student needs to learn how to say a new object in English. This will help the student to start to practicing their English and it will help them formulate the English language and will into help them to speak in English.
B)Emergent Level – This student is able to understand a little bit in English and can conduct a conversation nut very little. 1) This student still needs help with learning phrases and other vocabulary words in English. To help this student, this student needs to practice English with a student that has more understanding of the English language. This students needs to try and conduct a conversation with another student in English everyday. Along with this activity this student also needs to do an instruction where the teacher is having the students follow along in English. Where the teacher is having the students repeat after the teacher. For example: The teacher starts off by saying the book is on my head and then the students copy and repeat.
C)Basic Level – This student is able to use parts of speech and simple verb tenses to make a correct sentence in English when speaking. 1)This student still needs practice when forming correct sentences in English. This student will be shown pictures. Then the student will first ask to name objects they see in English. Then the student will be asked questions about the pictures to them help them develop the English Language.
D)Low Intermediate Level – This student is starting to formulate sentences in English correctly but is not always constant with the with using the parts of speech and subject agreement.
