When I was 9 years old, I was in 4th grade and I had a lot of free time after school because I wasn’t participating in any after school sports or activities. I decided to try out some sports to see what I would enjoy, and get a good exercise to stay fit and healthy.…
My full name is Autumn Lynn Schell. I am 16 years old, and I was born on October 24, 1999 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Cheering, dancing, and tumbling are the activities I love to do. Cheerleading is one of my favorite hobbies; it comes easy to me. My favorite food is macaroni and cheese; I also love oreo cookies. If I try, I can be a hard-worker. In certain situations, I become extremely impatient. If I contemplate something for too long, I get very frustrated and start to overthink the situation. I am the type of person just to leave alone for awhile so I can think.…
I didn’t really do much over the summer. We went to Indiana beach, and I am not too fond of roller coasters, or any ride for that matter, except for at water parks. Last year in 7th grade we went to Washington D.C and saw the washington monument, lincoln memorial, we went inside the Capitol building, The Changing of the Guard at Arlington cemetery, saw The White House. That didn’t really interest me, I don’t even have any souvenirs! Even earlier in the year, we went to Buffalo, New York. We saw a football game (the team we were rooting for lost,(TO THE JETS!) and we got to see Niagara Falls.…
My name is Kellee Layne Benjamin, and I will be twenty-three years old on February 4th, 2010. I was born and raised as a mid-western in Columbus, Ohio. I grew up with a large family of all sisters, half sisters, step sisters and one brother totaling eleven children. I was one of the younger, but considered to be the middle because of the age ranges between all of us. I grew up with seven siblings including myself, and the other four siblings were grown and had kids already. I lived in a small suburb of Columbus called Westerville. Westerville is a place where everyone knows everyone, even though they had four major high schools within this small town. Westerville is a very friendly place, where not a lot of crimes were committed. Westerville was “dry” my whole life growing up, but has recently changed so that they sell alcohol in certain markets around town.…

I played basketball for one year, I stop playing for a year cause I end of hurting my ankle, but now I want to do softball and play the violin.…
As a child, almost any activity is interesting besides staying inside of the house all day. I was an active child growing up. I participated in a wide variety of activities for multiple years such as: dancing, karate, cheerleading, and softball. When I entered middle school, I decided it was time to try something new. Basketball tryouts were coming up and I felt like I would enjoy the new experience. I ended up making the team, but halfway into the season I decided basketball was not the sport for me. A couple months later, track posters smothered the hallways encouraging students to join the team. I raced home and mentioned joining the team to my mother who then told me to try it out and see if I liked it. I went to the…
When I was in second grade I learned that I loved competing with people and being good at things. I joined a gymnastics gym near my house in second grade when i was 9, and started competing when i was 10. My mom told me that I have to do well in school if I was going to be focused on a sport along with school, or she would take me out of gymnastics. Soon enough, I wasn’t doing so well in social studies and comm skills. I was scared my mom would make me quit, But I worked as hard as I could so get back up there. Focusing more on school than outside activities, I got that grade back up and I continued with my favorite sport. I love gymnastics, but I don’t let it get in the way of school because school always comes first.…
I could go anywhere for college! I could have gone to the University of Arizona, or UC Irvine, or even New York University, but no I chose to go to Arizona State University because I want to stay near you mom! I picked to go to Arizona State University because it’s known for engineering, and I have decided to major in Chemical Engineering and minor in business. During my time at ASU, I will be living in the dorms and renting out apartments, and paying for my fees through scholarships and my college fund. I am also able to get in-state tuition, but most importantly I chose ASU because I’ll be able to stay close to my mom. While I could have gone to any college, I am choosing to go to ASU because there are many benefits for me and going to ASU…
Meeting the people whom I met and learning the things in which I learned are all great memories. But two things I’ll never forget as a teen were my two best hobbies and they were, playing basketball and running track. I really enjoyed playing basketball because I had the body statue for it and because it’s a very competitive sport. Now track on the other hand, was somewhat a lot more difficult for me. Even though I never was as fast as the other runners I really enjoyed traveling alongside the team and the joy of running fast and having the rush of the wind blow in my fast was an excellent feeling. My hobbies really helped me to cope with a…
During my senior year of high school, I was undecided about what I wanted to do, I applied to many colleges but didn’t know which one was for me. I couldn’t figure out at the time if I wanted to stay local, or go away for college. After a while, I decided to go the first year to a local commuter college called Penn State Brandywine. I figured I could keep my job, still be close to family, and still see friends. However, over the period of my freshman year, it wasn’t what I was expecting and now I want a new and different experience. I initially was going here as an undecided major, however after looking at my interests I decided I wanted to pursue a degree in international studies, and my current college does not have that. That is one of the…
I have always been an athletic person. As far back as I can remember, I have been involved in sports and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have sports apart of my life. Sports have meant so much to me over my years of growing up. I was always encouraged to be a part of different types of athletic programs. Sports are not for everyone, but playing a sport is definitely beneficial for high school students.…
My name is Casey Nicole Layton, and I am nineteen years of age. I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 20th, 1995. My parents used to call me an ice princess when I was little, and they always told me the same story when I’d ask how I had acquired that name. When they tried to bring me home from the hospital, we got stuck in the family car during a huge blizzard and the winter chill got to me, and they used this fairytale-like story to explain my nickname, as well as why my hands and feet were always cold. I am the third born out of six children. When I am not attending IUP, I live with my mum in Cheswick, Pennsylvania, with my step-dad and half siblings. At home we currently have 6 lizards, 5 cats, 3 dogs, and a bunny. In my spare time I breed snakes for a living with my mum, and we currently have over 50 snakes taking over our dining room. When I’m not doing that, I enjoy photography, painting, and crafting. Naturally, I am a busy-body who enjoys working hard and spending time with my family.…
I boisterously plead my case to my mom to change schools, but my sister was not ready to move. My mom did not want us to be split between different schools, so we had to wait till we both made an agreement to move. Jubilantly around the middle of my sixth grade year my sister finally agreed to move and we began planning to switch schools. We went and talked to Mr. Bryant about attending Fyffe. We began making preparations to transfer by moving to a rental house in Powells for a year at the end of my sixth grade year. The reason we waited on moving till the end is because I was fourth in top ten of my sixth grade class and I had to make a speech at awards day. My family and I thought this was a huge accomplishment for me. The day had…
