The American Red Cross provides care and hope to those in need. Gracious volunteers and donors have helped victims in disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, hazardous material spills, floods, transportation accidents, and hurricanes, as well as provided blood to those who desperately need it, and given hope and love to families with a member in the military. People rely on The Red Cross to help them in their time of great need. Suffering is the number one issue The American Red Cross aims to fight. The disaster relief looks to meet people’s immediate emergency needs that have been caused by a disaster. The United States Congress authorizes The American Red Cross to provide national and international relief as well a peace to the victims in their time of need. After caring for the victims and working to better the situation, The American Red Cross does its best to make sure, if possible, that the disaster does not repeat itself. The American Red Cross is fully committed to members of the U.S. military. Veterans and their families are continuing to grow as a result of Clara Barton’s recruiting of nurses to support the U.S. Army, which was more than a century ago. The Red Cross continues to expand
