Through out the years this has been a problem in many schools especially with all the new technology that has been updated. Some people would say the use of cell phones during class should be allowed at schools. Teachers think of cell phones for the use of to text, call, or for music and games. Teachers also think that cell phones are a use to cheat, but really cell phones are a great resource in class. Phones should be aloud to be used in free time during class time. When a student is done with an assignment, they should be allowed to have their phone out because it is a silent way for the students to entertain themselves. The cell phone can also be a good and smart way to interact with the teacher. This means instead of wasting paper for our warm-ups, essays, or any other class work that would be needed to turn in, we can simply send them to the teacher and can be a Helpful way to save our environment. The use of technology can be helpful during class time. In the other hand, others also disagree with allowing cell phones to be used during class. Many students might take advantage of this and not pay attention to the teacher but be texting others or creating a distraction. The noise or the vibration of the phone can annoy others that try to pay attention. Also, when someone gets his or her phone taken away, it becomes a big distraction to everyone and wastes class time. Cell phones in class can also lead to cheating. Being able to use a phone during class can be a benefit to both students and the teachers. It also can have a negative affect. Many people can argue with the good and bad side. Since most schools have certain rules, they probably have their own reasons for keeping it that

The second reason that students shouldn't be allowed to use cell phones in school for education is for the sake of the teachers, a teacher should not have to fight for the attention of his or her students due to technology. After twenty years of teaching history and ESL for Lowell High School, Miriam Morgenstern is quitting her job for multiple reasons. One of Morgenstern’s reasons for quitting is her students and their cell phones, she explains her frustration, “The texting, tweeting, and snapchatting during class time are ‘an incredible distraction, and makes it much more difficult to teach,’ she said. ‘It’s pretty hard to compete with a very funny YouTube video.’” It is unacceptable that students are using their phones while the teacher…

First, teachers find cell phone extremely distracting and disrespectful. Honestly, teachers do not oppose texting in class because they are mean, or don’t want students to socialize, but rather for students benefit. In fact, they are trying to prepare us for our future and the lives we will go on to live after high school. But with cell phones, we are depriving ourselves of education! With our cell phones going off in class, to our classmates getting caught playing Angry Birds, cell phones are awfully disturbing to have in class. Teachers only want to prepare…

Texting in class is a very touchy subject, and can be argued from many different aspects. One of the main things though, is that texting in class would not be disruptive just for the student texting, but also to the students sitting around the student that is doing the texting. In this today’s generation, everywhere around us people of all ages and cultures circle around their cell phones in everything they do. Whether we are walking down the road, in the grocery style, in class, or even much dangerously, in driving, cell phones have grown to be a very vital part of our everyday lives. However, when it comes to cell phones and texting in the classroom, a very controversial answer is given between teachers and students. Students say they don’t see a problem with texting in class, teachers on the other hand, think otherwise. This is where the problem begins; teachers hold a very persuasive argument about why students shouldn’t be allowed to text in class or even use the cell phone at all. Students on the other hand, can also put up a somewhat reasonable argument as well.…

Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some hold the idea of smart phone are functional which can not only receive information, but also support class. From my point of view , it is more advisable to ban the usage of cell phone during class. By the way I am not doubt about Involving technologies such as cell phones that are held with high value to students can be a tool. According to the observation, most of the students use smart phone during classing are surfing on line or play games. Since smart phone is convenient to use and it is covert for using it which will not let teacher notice. However, it is unnecessary to use cell phone during the class, because we can use our laptop instead if you want to get more information related to the class. Cell phones are so much more than just a phone now. Students can use tools of the cell phone such as calculator, map finder, reminders, dictionary, calendar and internet. For example, if a student forgot to bring a calculator to class, they can use the calculator in their phone. Furthermore, during class the teacher may ask the students to research something, while taking the whole class goes to the library or computer lab would take too long time, students can use their smart phones access internet to do research when doing discussion or a project. This would save time and allow the teachers more time to teach. Students can access a lot of great learning websites to get additional educational resources such as essay-writing websites to supplement the learning in class. I agree that mobile phones should not be used in the classroom, because if children were using their mobile phones in the classroom where they should be learning, their attention from their school work could drift off, therefore they would not know what to do in their studies leading to them failing their subjects and not succeeding at school. Also the teacher would get inturrupted by the phones noises causing her not to be able to concentrate on teaching the little amount of people who are not using their phones and trying to learn…

Most schools feel that cell phones are a distraction to the student, however if they are not used in classes there is no reason that they should not be allowed to be kept on. Personally, I feel that if a cell phone remains off during class and is not used during the time when students are being educated then they should be permitted in schools. If a student needs to make a phone call they should be allowed to make it from a hallway, an empty class room, outside in front of the building, or somewhere in which they are not disrupting class. The total ban of cell phones in schools is not necessary at all times.…

As a student at ********* High School I feel that the use of cell phones should be allowed. In class there are not always enough calculators for every student to use, most likely every student in the room will have a cell phone, and on that cell phone there is always a calculator, allowing the use of these phones for school use they can then lower the districts budget now being able to subtract calculators. Every phone has either a memo pad or a notepad, in schools they give each student a assignment book which is supposed to be used throughout the school year to write down their school assignments and work needed to be completed. In this world today every teenage student has their cell phone steady on hand which their school assignment book should be, but are not. In this case if students could have their cell phones in class they could put their work into their cell phones with an alarm and never miss an assignment due. I think teachers should give their students a certain amount of time to put their assignments in their phones so they will only be able to use their phones for school related things. During class the teacher may ask the students to research something, while taking the whole class down to the library would take to long, many students have internet access on their cell phones which could be used at the tip of their fingers. This would save time and would allow the teachers more time to teach. The camera devices on the cell phones can come in handy also, if a student is absent a friend can take a picture of their work and send it to their friend to keep him/her…
