Smoking among teens has been increasing rampant nowadays. There are many reasons related to this smoking habit as we will discuss further later on. The effects on cigarette advertising will be argued in this context and to find out the perception on cigarette advertising among the youth. This research paper was targeting at youth with the intention to gather feedbacks and opinions on smoking among teenagers. There are many reasons why adolescence picking up the smoking habit, one of the common reasons was peer pressure. Philip Morris USA has done a in-depth survey on how peer pressure can effects smoking among teens. This survey has been done at an entertainment outlet called Roller Sports in the heart of town where most youngsters hang out to socialize, gather and skate their hearts out. Cigarette advertising has been one of the contributors as the purpose of cigarette ads and promotions is to make sure smokers keep smoking, get people who quit to start smoking again and increase the number of cigarette people smoke each day. There are many organizations like world health literacy, American Heart Association and many more that had done their research or survey to support this. This research papers also will confirm further the effects on government harm smoking efforts to curbs youngster from smoking by increasing the cigarette price. Health issue relating to a quitter will also mention and the numerous steps to help people who wish to quit this addictive habit will also be included. This survey indicates the perception of cigarette advertising among the youth today. As we enter the world of technology with internet access available at your finger tips, there are useful information online on the dangers and the health benefits for anyone to wish to quit smoking.
Tobacco is a plant grown for its leaves, which are smoked, chewed or sniffed for a variety of effects. It is considered an addictive substance because it contains the chemical nicotine. In addition to nicotine, tobacco contains over 19 known cancer- causing chemicals mostly are collectively known as “tar” and more than 4,000 chemicals. This included chacetone, ammonia, carbon monoxide, cyanide, methane, propane and butane, The fact had been supported by many researchers that are concern on the effects of smoking among the population especially the teens. According to American Accreditation Heath Care Commission, mentioned that over 38 million people in the United States have successfully quit smoking. Yet there are still around 50 million Americans who smoke. This figure shows that smoking issue should not to be taking lightly and governments, NGO should help the society to curb this habit.
There are over thousand million smokers throughout the world, this is an astonishing number, considering the harm which smoking brings which we are well aware due to the much explored research by scientist and many world doctors.
