Pollution
Pollution – Thank God man cannot fly and lay waste In Air and Land.

Pollution is probably the most serious issue facing the world today.Yet we keep on turning a blind eye to it,believing that it won't affect us.Pollution of various element sof out ecosystem like air, water, soil and sound has caused serious damage already. In Man's quest for a better life and his mad rush for material possessions has forgot , or rather chose to ignore the impact of his deeds on the environment.Quite naturally, it is the cities, which are the symbols of man's greed ,which are the centers of most polluting activities. The fumes emanating from vehicles as well as factories have made the air in cities unfit for breathing. Sewage and other garbage from households and factories are regularly dumped into our beautiful rivers and oceans. Most of the garbage and other solid wastes are dumped on the land itself causing land pollution. And as if all these were not enough, excessive honking, blaring of music at loud volume, crackers etc have created a relatively new menace of sound pollution.

The biggest irony of all this is that though it is the earth that gets polluted, ultimately it is man himself who's digging his own grave because pollution not only spoils his own health but also worsens his quality of life. People in cities who are exposed to various kinds of pollution suffer from several ailments like high blood pressure, asthma and skin diseases. Garbage strewn around leads to break out of epidemics like cholera, malaria, chikungunya etc. Poisonous chemicals from the air as well as our water bodies have recently caused an exponential rise in cancer cases.

Now there is an even bigger danger called climate change.Pollution has lead to global warming which has disturbed the global climatic pattern.winters have become warmer, frequency of droughts and floods has increased, and rainfalls have become unpredictable.Things have got to such a level that life on earth itself is under

The environment is a part of our daily lives yet most people do not consider the impact that their actions have on the environment. People interact with and depend on different aspects of the environment from the air to water and land. There are relationships between actions that we make and the environment, the most obvious one being pollution. The lasting influence we have on our surroundings may not be immediately apparent but future generations will have to live with the consequences of each decision which affects our environment. People are not the only ones being affected either as pollution and other human practices have led to disastrous consequences for countless other species. In the past, there have been changes in the world both good and bad, but they have all been natural. This past century has led to man-made practices that destroy the environment faster than ever before. Time used to be able to correct any natural issues that have come up, but humans have made such a huge impact in such a short time that time may not be able to fix our mistakes (Carson 645). The environment is an integral part of our lives and we depend on the resources that they provide so steps must be taken to prevent further damage to it. The land, water, and air are all subjected to pollution from various sources such as pesticides and pollution from cars. While we may need to get rid of certain insects that pose a threat to a part of our lives and we may need cars to get to places it is important to realize the effects of both of them and consider better alternatives. The current environmental problems have mostly been a result of human activities but there is a possibility that we can help the planet if certain changes are quickly made. There are better solutions to our problems that must be considered in order to protect the environment.…

starting in June 2013. On 19 June 2013 satellites captured images of smoke from illegal wildfires on the Indonesian island of Sumatra blowing east toward southern Malaysia and Singapore, causing thick clouds of haze in the region. As stated by a local Indonesian official, the source of the haze might be a 3,000 hectare peat land in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, which was set ablaze by an unknown party on 9 June. As many as 187 hotspots were picked up by satellites on 18 June 2013, down to 85 on 20 June 2013. On 23 June 2013, 119 hotspots were detected. On 24 June 2013, 159 hotspots were detected in Riau, out of a total of 227 detected in Sumatra. An air force officer explained that the low number of hotspots detected on some days was due to heavy cloud cover, which prevented the satellite from detecting some of the hotspots. The Malaysia Department of Environment said that 173 hotspots were detected in Malaysia on 24 June, with 1 in Negeri Sembilan, 1 in Terengganu, 3 in Sabah, and 168 in Sarawak.[6] Many of the hotspots are owned by palm oil companies or smallholder farmers who supply palm oil to these companies and use traditional slash-and-burn methods to clear their land for the next planting season. However, Singapore's Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong, has said that the fires were most likely started by errant companies, instead of slash-and-burn by smallholders. On 25 June 2013, Indonesia's president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono issued a formal apology to Malaysia and Singapore for the hazardous smog. On 26 June 2013, 265 hotspots were detected by satellites, but it has since decreased to 54 on 27 June after heavy rain fell overnight between the two days. Newly-promoted English Premier League side Cardiff City has also cancelled a week-long visit to Malaysia, the home of its billionaire owner, Vincent Tan that was scheduled to begin that week, as a result of the severe haze.…
