we never expect adults to gather the words that they have spoken and take them back, or in a sense clean them up. If toys are a child’s words and form of communication, why would we expect them to clean up their toys? When I read this it made complete and total sense. I realized that making a child pick up after themselves could potentially do away with being respectful to the child. If we were to ask them to clean up after themselves, it would be like asking them to take back what they have said, and place their words in boxes. I might be being too metaphorical, however, to fully accept the child as an equal and be respectful, I do not believe that one can be to metaphorical. On the other hand, I have had a child help me to clean up. Mainly because this little person wanted to help me. It is alright if they want to help, because this behavior provides insight into their personality.

An adjusted child is not shy to be more open and speak more. During play, it can be said that these children go with the flow. They are creative, and spontaneous. In addition, this means that they use more toys and in many ways. Unlike adjusted children, maladjusted children are more resistant to the therapeutic process. These children are very hesitant to open up during the diets few sessions. Additionally, these children are more cautious of their actions while in session. Furthermore, these children lack feelings of safety. They prefer more instruction. This information helped mentor further understand my previous client and his behavior.     In an early years practice there is a policy of inclusive practice to make all the children reach their full potential. We use this practice to prevent or stop children feeling unwanted, not good enough, left in the dark, lost, small, nervous, worn down or have a negative self-image. In a case study I researched which included a story of a boy named Sam; who is developmental behind approximately two years. I saw how being part of an inclusive practice helped him develop. Sam was able to run around with other children with aid from his walking frame, not only did this help Sam be more mobile so he could go and do things by himself but he could also interact better socially.     During the early childhood years, children learn to interact with one another in ways that are positive and successful. Researchers stress the importance of positive peer relationships in childhood and later life. The absence of positive social interactions in childhood is linked to negative consequences later in life, such as withdrawal, loneliness, depression, and feelings of anxiety. In addition, low acceptance by peers in the early years is a predictor of grade retention, school dropout, and mental health and behavior problems.
