On the Sidewalk Bleeding (Newsreport)
Boy Found Dead Covered In Blood on Sidewalk
Just yesterday a boy at the age of sixteen was found dead on a sidewalk by the alley downtown. Witnesses tell investigators that his name was Andy. He had been stabbed to death. The knife had entered just below his rib cage and had been drawn violently across his body, opening the wound. Due to the immense amount of blood found at the crime scene, investigators state that the boy bled to death.
Witnesses state that the victim was a member of a gang who call themselves “The Royals”. This was later confirmed by the gang name imprinted on the back of the boy’s Jacket. The killer is believed to be a member of a rival gang who calls themselves “The Guardians”. No one is entirely sure what happened to the victim during his final hours but we have been able to get a few quick words from some witnesses.
Laura, the victim’s girlfriend, confirmed his identity as Andy, she was his closest confident. Further details surrounding this gruesome incident have been rather vague.
“He had told me that he would only be gone a few minutes; that he was just going pop into the candy store. He didn’t come back after half an hour so I went out to look for him, but by the time I found him it was too late. People see him as a Royal but I see him only as Andy, and I hope he knew that.” Laura said in an interview. We were also able to get a brief moment with his distraught mother.
In a statement she said “I am deeply saddened by my son’s death. No one deserves to die like this and I pray all those who were involved will be brought to justice. As a mother, I am begging you, if you have any information please come forward.”
The few people close to the victim are having trouble recovering from the shock of his sudden death. But it seems to me that it was just another bloody clash between gangs, and this Royal found himself in the wrong place at the wrong

During further investigation of the crime it revealed that she was indeed hit across the head with an object, but it did not kill her; she later died from strangulation according to the swelling on her brain. It is believed that the rest of the scene was staged. It is just awful that someone would want to torture an innocent little girl, because records show what the strangulation happened about 45 minutes to 2 hours after she was hit in the head. Also during the investigation, the investigators had the family’s handwriting tested to see if their writing matched the ransom note; even…

‘Get yo hands out my pocket”, one of the young men exclaimed. A scuffle followed and I heard Brother Malcom say “Be cool, Be Calm and then the sound of gunfire rang through the ballroom. I looked toward the stage to see brother Malcom falling backwards cover in blood. The sound of gunfire and the screams from the spectators all seemed to dissolve around me as I watched the symbol of our hope laying upon the floor bleeding. As I snapped myself out of this horrid trance. I noticed the guards mercilessly beating a man until the Police came and saved him. I noticed other people still in shock watching as the paramedics took Brother Malcom out on a gurney and my hope was reignited when I heard a woman say ‘He’s alive, He’s still breathing”. He was taken across the street to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where he was later pronounced…

He had been killed by several stab wounds across his chest and neck. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans, and white tennis shoes. The backpack he was wearing contained only a few granola bars, some bottled water, and a notebook. Most of the notebook was written in an unidentified shorthand, probably only legible to its owner. The boy had no form of ID on him, and nobody came to claim the body. He became known as “the “Hill Park boy” and he remains unidentified to this day.…

Merits: The respondent, Daniel Murphy, was convicted by a jury in an Oregon court of the second-degree murder of his wife. The victim died by strangulation in her home in the city of Portland, and abrasions and lacerations were found on her throat. There was no sign of a break-in or robbery. Word of the murder was sent to the estranged husband, Daniel Murphy. Upon receiving the message, Murphy promptly telephoned the Portland police and voluntarily came into Portland for questioning. Shortly after the respondent’s arrival at the station house, where he was met by retained counsel, the police noticed a dark spot on the respondent’s finger. Suspecting that the spot might be dried blood and knowing that evidence of strangulation is often found under the assailant’s fingernails, the police asked Murphy if they could take a sample of scrapings from his fingernails. He refused. Under protest and without a warrant, the police proceeded to take the samples. After this evidence was collected, Murphy was released and was not formally “arrested” until approximately one month later. The samples turned out to contain traces of skin and blood cells, and fabric from the victim’s nightgown. This incriminating evidence was admitted at the trial over defense objections.…
