Scope
Job design aims at reducing or overcoming job dissatisfaction and employee alienation that arises from repetitive and mechanistic tasks. The aim of this assignment is to evaluate the importance of job design and the ability of managers try to increase productivity by offering non-monetary rewards that make it easier for employees to do their job with an increased sense of satisfaction with the outcome of their daily duties. Job design is important for an organization to perform the organizational activities in the most efficient and effective manner. It provides the required information about the layout and also specifies the way of performing the tasks. Job design helps in planning a good organizational structure which is determined by the job design process. The organizational structure plays a key role in assessing the requirements and needs of the organization. Job design also emphasizes organizational culture and the norms and values that the members need to follow to achieve the organization goals. Therefore, job design is very important for the organization.

Literature review
Job design is the planning and structuring of the organisation and working environment in a manner that allows employees to work in an environment that is properly structured and comfortable enough to allow employees to work to the best of their abilities.

Employee satisfaction is the ability to keep employees in an organisation comfortable and safe in their working environment, this is one of the many motivators which results in employee satisfaction.

Nature of the task is the basic steps or activities of the task which form part of the completion of the task and cannot fulfil the task if not completed. Satisfaction which is considered to be different from dissatisfaction, leads to motivation. E.g. if an employee feels that his or her work is meaningful she/he may feel satisfied and take pride in the job therefore motivating him/her to exhibit high performance (e.g. staying late after work, paying close attention to details, helping new employees. Dissatisfaction which is considered to be different from satisfaction, does not lead to motivation. For example, an employee who is content with pay will not quit but may not be motivated to perform at a higher level than she/he already performing.

Introduction
Every organization faces challenges in the working environment; it is beneficial for companies and businesses to seek to be the best they can be. By using certain strategies and methods organizations can improve productivity and achieve their corporate goals. In this assignment we see that job design is needed to help employees work efficiency and effectively. We see that there are more benefits than losses when job design is implemented, when employees are given a workplace that allows them access to all the resources needed to implement and fulfil their tasks, productivity is increased.

Managers need to evaluate and observe their working environment, and specify what is needed to make working easier, comfortable and more efficient. In product orientated working environments, the process of making products must be reliable. Equipment must be easily accessible and safe to use. This makes using the needed resources easier and faster.
