Across the last century the knowledge on leadership and teamwork had an evolution with several theorist who made their own experiments and ideas of how to organise a group of people in a successful manner and how to act as a leader. Most of them brought to the actual society strategies, advice or just another perspective when a problem need a solution. Nowadays, the business students are recommended to learn from the early thinkers till the present but, how might improve this knowledge the career prospects of someone wishing to work in the field of business management? First of all It is needed to have knowledge to know which action take where, how, and when to start and secondly, experience, a lot of experience. On the following essay it is wrote the ideas of experienced theorist about leadership and teamwork where their ideas will be presented, discussed and learned the advantages of know which idealism suits better into a company and a previous definition of both issues. The improve on a learner is for sure, but in which way?
Leader can be either born or made (trait theory), but which psychological traits are characteristics on such personality? Be leadership is the ability to create a desired vision of the future that it is pursued, inspiring others to pursue and share the parameters, the effort and the success. Leaders have ambition and energy, desire to lead, are honest, selfconfidence, intelligence and have a relevant knowledge on the goal they pursue.
On situational leaderships it is found two similar structured theories and at the same time different thinking theorist, Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard with Situational leadership and Robert House with Path leadership:
Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard: Situational Leadership Theory The vision of leadership that Hersey and Blanchard developed on the theory is that there is no single best way to lead, in order to be successful leaders adapt their style to the capacity of the employees Maturity level, such as the capacity to achieve attainable goals, ability to take responsibility for the assigned task and the education and skills for the task. Depending on maturity level of such employees, the leader adapt different behaviour on Task and relationship with employers: One example of application of think it is find out on General George Patton, one of the highranked leader of the American military who utilized the situational leadership style. Him war strategy and tactics based on that idealism. In order to win the war he was focused on analyzing the situation which became the way of planning the course of action being ready to change plans if an unexpected situation appears.
What it is found it these theorist is that they prioritized the task, after, the skills and motivation of such employers, it suites emergency and critical operations where the people who can take responsibility to find solutions for the organisation is key. Robert House: PathGoal Leadership Theory
Robert House’s belief on leader is that the style effect to the job satisfaction and performance of the network employees, in order to be successful leader guides workers to choose the best path to achieve their goals and provide the direction to ensure that employees’ goals are compatible with the organisation’s goals. Robert indicates that leaders have to be flexible and available to change their style depending on the situation, it is their job to assist. A remarkable example was successful leader Steve Jobs with a continuous renovation of technology on Apple.
