Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are amazing footballers, but they have many differences when it comes to actually playing the game their salaries are also different. Ronaldo is the world’s most expensive player, Real Madrid having signed him for $131 million in the summer of 2009. They are two of the highest paid soccer players in the world game. Messi has a release clause of $400 million and his rise to the top could not contrast more starkly to that of Ronaldo. Messi a twenty-six year old Argentinian footballer. Who has been playing with FC Barcelona since he was six-teen years old. Has such amazing talent when it comes to playing soccer. As soon as he steps foot in that field, all his worries go away and nothing else matters but the game. Ronaldo is a twenty-eight year old Portuguese professional soccer player. When he gets into the game, nothing else is bothering him except the guy trying to take possession of the ball. Unlike Messi, Ronaldo is a midfielder, what that mean is that he is running more than Messi. Up and down the soccer field for 90 minutes gets tiring and sometimes can me a little stressful. Messi is very much left-footed and finishes most of his chances off on that side. Messi is outstanding in one-on-ones, capable of the subtle dink over an advancing goalkeeper, a curled effort into the corner or a pile driver. So many chances come his way in a team that dominates most games that he will miss a few, but it is hard to find fault in Messi’s finishing. He will more than likely finish strong with his right foot. But he does use his weak foot and still has a pretty good average. Ronaldo more often than not opts for sheer power. Unlike Messi, the Portuguese star is right footed, but is also adept at finishing on his weaker side. Can be guilty of profligacy, but his goals record speaks for itself.
