Dennis Frame December 2nd, 2013 Influenced by an Individual At one point in everyone’s life you come across a person who has either influenced or impacted your life. Whether it was for a short or long period of time it’s happened to everyone.
I’ve been shaped into the man I am today hanks to the help of my grandparents and even though my mother was not really around she has changed my life and influenced me into becoming the person I am today. I look back to when I was young and my mother was never there. Not because she had abandoned me, but because she was just diagnosed with cancer. She had spent a lot of my childhood in and out of the hospital. My mother always had something nice or influential to say to me about sports.my mother has been a lot more to me than just a mother; she is my mother, coach, teacher, and best friend. I can talk to her about anything and she is always ready to help me. My mom has influenced and driven me to do well in school and to try my best into playing sports. Whether its practice or a game I always leave it all on the field. But I and my mom have that connection because not only has she taught me the games of basketball, baseball, and football but she has also coached me in all of the sports above. She has inspired me to make her proud every time I step onto that field and always do the best I can. There is no exception for losing because I always wanted to win for her. The drive you get from winning a game with your mother as your coach is unbelievable. I feel so happy and have the biggest smile on my face when I see her eyes light up after we have won. Even though I and my mom have our ups and downs our bond can never be broken. She has inspired me into becoming the athlete and smart well-mannered person I am today. I know that at the end of the day she is proud of me and the things she has taught me will stay with me forever. My mother has defiantly changed my life. I am lucky to have a mom who is such a caring, loving, and understanding as her. To have a mother who is a part of your life 24/7 and is there to right your wrongs and help to fix your mistakes is something any kid could wish for. I know that I would not be here today if my mom was not always by my side to push me to the next lever and drive me to achieve more than capable. I know the rights I have done weight out the wrongs in her life. Her influences on me have taught me many lessons such as to never give up, strive for higher success, hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard, and more. The lessons have made me what I am today.
Without my mother I don’t know what kind of person I would have turn out to be and I never want to live long enough to see it. I love the person I have become and it is all thanks to her I love her and thank her for all the inspiration and motivation she has given me in life.

My sister played Cross Country, Basketball, Track, and Softball. Being in the Piña family meant two things: doing well in school and playing multiple sports. Although it wasn’t easy at first, it was a part of my high school experience which also gave me great friends. Before entering my freshman year I did summer workouts with the cross country team that would become the State Champion cross country team later that year. After we won my freshman year, I knew that I wanted to be a part of a team that could succeed. So I worked hard and eventually became on the State Team my junior year. I also worked hard in Soccer, Baseball, and…

Playing sports was a huge commit for not only me but my mom. She drives me to and from sport to sport, still being on time. I played ETFC (Eugene Timbers Futbol Club) so we traveled a lot for games. She was at every game, some even in Washington. When we had tournaments she had to pay for hotels and food. I am very thankful for her.…

While growing up my parents put me in all kinds of sports; baseball, basketball, soccer and the list goes on. One day, at the age of six, while my mom and I sat at the dining room table looking at the Sunday paper we saw an ad for cheerleading tryouts. She thought I lost my mind as I beg her to let me try out. She failed to realize that eleven years later I would still be cheering competitively and won many national titles from coast to coast.…

It took me eighteen years to spend some quality time with my mother and discover what an incredible journey she has had with my brothers and me. She is the kind of person who has always been very involved with all parts of our daily lives. In fact, she was the kind of mother who always had time for her three sons, worked full-time and had time to devote to community projects too. Her energy and enthusiasm for all of these things seemed endless and she always tried to teach the three of us to see the value in the idea of giving back to the community. I was always glad that she was present at my games and supported me through school, but it took me over a decade to learn what motivated her to be so enthusiastic about her job as a mother of three sons.…

Twenty years ago she came into my life and because of her I am a better person. If not for her I never would have been so dedicated and excited to play sports. Thanks to Aim my life revolved around sports and this allowed me to release my frustrations and be a part of team. She once said to me “Teddy your team is an extension of your family and family is all any of us have.” She was the best member any family could ever have and I am honored to call her my aunt. Before she officially became my aunt she was my mentor, my coach and my biggest fan. From her I learned to take pride in my actions, to do my best and to never take people for granted. One time she took me to one of our many wrestling meets and I had to wrestle a girl. I was 13 years old and had been raised to never hurt a female. The girl beat me by points because I couldn’t go all out and I was extremely embarrassed. She consoled me and assured me that it was just a fluke. Then later that day I had to face the…
