Influence of Television on People
The first television was introduced to the public by a Scotsman inventor John Logie Baird and an American inventor Charles Francis Jenkins.
Ever since television had been invented, it has become the most dominant and significant technology in our society. There are several advantages of television like we all know that we can have a clear idea that what is happening in the world, we can have live information about the several events like sports and any other good or bad events happening on the globe.
One can have a weather forecast and accordingly plan several things before time. It is also a good source of entertainment which is very cheap and within the access of every one. Television has shrunk the distance of the world we can watch what is happening several thousand miles away from us. So in totality it is information from all over the world, and it is fun and enjoyment with convenience.
However along with some positive sides it has its disadvantages as well like watching too much of television also affects your eye and nerves. Television creates such a spell on children and in some cases it also effects the elders that they actually lose their own opinion they feel whatever is being shown on television is correct and should be practised as such. In such situation it is the responsibility of the broad caster to show what is safe to be shown on the television. But still several irresponsible television channels show content which is not be showngly plan several things before time.

Television made it much easier and less expensive to get new information. In the past, to get a news a person had to buy a newspaper, that is to spend time getting to the newspaper stand and pay some money for a newspaper. Television provides people with an ability to get news instantly, without getting up from the couch, and for free. Of course, there is a certain sum one should pay monthly for using a TV cable, antenna, or a satellite dish, but this fee is relatively small in comparison with the money to pay for all the newspapers one should buy to obtain the same amount of information as from the TV.…

I believe that television can influence children in good and bad ways. Depending of what types of shows and channels the kids are watching it could actually be a good thing. If a child is only allowed to watch kids shows, and kids’ channels they won’t learn anything bad. If children are just watching shows like Dora the Explorer and Jake’s Neverland Island, they aren’t going to learn anything bad; they may actually learn things that are beneficial. With Dora the Explorer they learn problem solving and also get introduced to some Mexican culture and Spanish. If you were to let a child watch adult shows though, it may not turn out very well. For instance, if you let a little girl grow up watching shows like Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant, they grow up thinking that the way these girls act is ok, because hey, if they’re on TV, they must be doing something right.…

Television is just another part of technology keeping us from viewing the world and living our lives as we should. Instead of coming out of our house and taking on any challenge the world might have for us, we easily give up to our laziness, which quickly makes us grab the bag of chips, the soda, and sit down. Even though I am one of the many people who just loves to have the remote by their side, I strongly believe that television is nothing but detrimental to our society.…

It is safe to say that there is no specific inventor of the television, but collective ideas and inventions that inventors and scientist had come up with through out the years. Before 1925, the TV was something that was pure science fiction. In the 1870s, there were several scientist and inventors whom worked on photoelectric devices that turned light into an electric signal. In 1876 a German technician/inventor named Paul Nipkow had patented a rotating disc that could be used to capture and display an image using electricity. John Baird based his technology on Paul Nipkow's scanning disk idea and later developments in electronics. Although Nipkow had the patent, he never developed a use for the system, so the disc and the patent expired about twenty years later. No one was fully successful until 1925 when a Scottish man from England by the name of John Logie Baird and an American man named Clarence W. Hansell patented the idea of using different types of transparent rods to transmit images for television. Baird was…
