How is Zhuhai Putuo Temple critical for reflecting Chinese Buddhist Tradition? Zhuhai Putuo Temple was built in March 2000, managed by Mingsheng Master. It rebuilt and enlarged in 2002. Master Yanhai said that this temple is one of the eight sects. The main idea of this temple is Bodhimanda. It is also a temple for chan. I was focus on the Buddhist architecture of this temple, and I found the architecture has both traditional characters and modern installation. This temple is symmetrical placement that shows the balance in Buddhism. There are many Chinese traditional mythical animals on the roof to protect the building. The electronic monitors show the modern managed of Putuo Temple now. The architecture is a traditional placement of Chinese Buddhist Tradition. It is obviously shows that this temple is symmetrical placement in a full shot. It might be influenced by the Chinese Imperial Power long ago, so that it was a little looks like Imperial Palace. Zhuhai Putuo Temple was build beside the mountains. After we got off the bus, the first building showed in front of us is a big memorial archway. It has five doors and there are stone lions sitting each door. A memorial archway always has been an entrance to a place, like this memorial archway is a door to the mountain and the temple. The Chinese characters in this memorial arch show that this place should be dignified and it should be use for recognized the honor. Across the memorial archway, we can see the Heavenly King Hall. In the front of Heavenly King Hall are three Life Free Pounds. Pilgrims let life be so that it can make them feel better. Behind the Heavenly King Hall is Hall of universal light. There are also two sides besides the Hall of universal light. In the left side, there are guests rooms, and also sell some goods of Buddhism.
