Film and Horror Movies
Horror essay:
A lot of people enjoy the life with thrill and excitement. However, the opportunity for enjoying something truly thrilling is not a lot. Horror movies or series may be the most convenient and easy way to experience the horror. Many of my friends love watching horror movies. One of them told me that Horror is the most typical art in the 20th century. A good horror movie brought viewer an unusual psychological experience. It filled with indescribable fear and surprises. Actually I don’t really understand them. I hate watching any horror movies because I am scared and couldn’t sleep well in the following couple weeks. For this week’s topic, I have no choice so I searched some articles online try to see why horror movie are so popular and why people love it so much.
I found an article online, Why Our Brains Love Horror Movies, which describes many reasons people love horror movies. The major reasons people want to see horror movies, because they crave the scare. It’s the way to get very excited. Fear of horror movies gives viewer an aesthetic experience. It’s not only fear but also pleasure. More precisely, it is an obsession. Then discusses the reasons why the major audiences are teens and twenties. Young audiences are in a period of rapid development of physical and psychological. Horror movies’ stimulation is the way they transform their excess hormones. For older adults, they don’t like young audients to seek this kind of horror experience, because it could increase the hearts race. After reading the article, I feel I can be categorized to old people. I don’t like the process of terror. And I never go to the cinema to watch any horror movie. However, many people except me like to immerse in the several hours of watching a horror movie and meanwhile enjoy this kind of grip.
