After watching the movie Erin Brockovich and reading the article “Dressing Sexy at Work: When Too Little is Too Much” I have come to the conclusion that the way you dress in the workplace has a strong reflection of who you are as a person. If you dress provocatively it sends off the message that you are not professional and intelligent. The way you present yourself is very important, in today’s society you are judged on your appearance, so if you show a lot of skin in the workplace it makes those around you feel uncomfortable. In the movie Erin Brockovich, Erin dresses inappropriately for the workplace and it effects how her coworkers treat her. The other women she works with don’t include her in extra work activities or lunches, I believe this is because she sends of the message she’s better than everyone else just because of the way she presents herself. Jealousy is also a key point in the exclusion of Erin. I do believe that the way you dress should play a role in the job you are given or not given because if you feel the need to wear revealing clothing in a professional work environment then you shouldn’t be in that type of work, and if you choose to dress professional and classy then yes, that is the right type of job for you. The way you dress at work says a lot about how you are as a person, and your clothing should show that you are mature, and responsible, you should not be showing a lot of skin whatsoever.
