Conference Background

The conference I have chosen to put together is a conference about healthcare and the industrial legislation. It was decided that the Sydney Harbour Marriott would be the most appropriate venue to hold this conference. The venues meeting room (Henry Lawson Room I & II) has a meeting space of 288 square meters which is more than enough space for the 70 delegates attending. The Sydney Harbour Marriott was also chose as it will hold the delegates for their overnight stay. This will mean that there is less to and fro from venues, no need to rely on transport to pick up the delegates and drive them around and will keep the time sheet going smoothly.
Venue Selection

The Sydney Harbour Marriott is only moments away from the Sydney Harbour and Sydney Opera House. The Sydney Harbour Marriott provides a wide range of services and amenities such as car rentals, babysitting, mobility accessible rooms, concierge and high speed internet access. The hotel also includes buffet meals and coffee/tea rooms.

I found this to be the best place to use for the conference because it is in a central location that is close to all sorts of transport (Bus, train, ferry & taxi’s) and has 18 different types of meeting rooms with a total of 1,410 square meters of total meeting space.

To be specific, I have chosen the Henry Lawson I & II that has a maximum meeting space of 288 square meters and a maximum capacity of 250 delegates.

The theme for this conference will be covering the legal obligations that health professionals have to ensure the safety of not only patients but also themselves. This goes hand-in-hand with correspondingly covering
