INTRODUCTION
Devoto Management is a property management company based in London, United Kingdom. They manage residential, retail and industrial properties on behalf of the property owners. Each property is classified by type and has one designated owner. An owner might have several properties, of various types, managed by Devoto. The type of area of the property is also recorded as well as the address. Area types are: Residential Inner City

Residential Suburb
Residential Country
Industrial Estate
Retail Area

When properties are rented, the customer details are kept. Some customers might rent more than one property. Some properties come with associated fixtures. Fixtures might include: Furniture and kitchen utensils (such as a bed, table, wardrobe, chair, microwave), for residential properties Shop fittings (such as shelves, a cash register) for retail properties, and Industrial and office equipment (such as a photocopier, desks) for industrial properties.

TASK 1
DESIGN
A database is a collection of information organized to provide efficient retrieval. A good database has to be designed for Devoto Company. This will help to avoid data redundancy and help with good record keeping.

Entity
An entity is a piece of data, an object or concept about which data is stored. The following entities have been identified:
Customer
Fixture
Owner
Property
Property Type
Rent

Relationship
A relationship is how the data is shared between entities. There are three types of relationships between entities:

1. One-to-One
One instance of an entity (A) is associated with one other instance of another entity (B).

2. One-to-Many
One instance of an entity (A) is associated with zero, one or many instances of another entity (B), but for one instance of entity B there is only one instance of entity A.

3. Many-to-Many
One instance of an entity (A) is associated with one, zero or many instances of another entity (B), and one instance of entity B is associated with one, zero or many instances of entity A.
