Dailly Dilly Case Study
1) Should Flanagan Theme Park approve the Daily-Dilly promotion? If yes, how should they design the deal? If no, why?
Answer: Flanagan Theme Park should not approve the Daily-Dilly promotion right now. However it can still use well-designed Daily-Dilly deals at the right time in the future.
Reasons for not approving the Daily-Dilly promotion right now:
1. Prevent from losing currently or potentially loyal customers
As was mentioned in the case, the main problem for Flanagan Theme Park is customer experience. If these problems are not fixed, introducing Daily-Dilly to promotion can only worsen the customer experience and lose currently or potentially loyal customers more quickly.
Although as Ruth said there may be a minority of people who do buy more than the Daily-Dilly coupon value, they would hardly become loyal customers if they have bad experience in the theme park. That is to say, introducing the Daily-Dilly promotion before improving the customer service can only be a disaster for customer loyalty.
2. Daily-Dilly deals can hardly provide steady and predictable cash flow
The Daily-Dilly deals can’t solve the cash flow problem. Although the cash flow from Daily-Dilly is probably predictable, the cash flow from traditional channel can become highly unpredictable or even dropped dramatically after launching the Daily-Dilly promotion. This may even worsen the current cash flow problem.

Right steps to use Daily-Dilly promotion:
There are two goals for Flanagan Theme Park: ①short term: attract more customers to the park ②long term: build a strong customer loyalty. Flanagan can use Daily-Dilly wisely to achieve these two goals together. Here are my suggested steps:
1. Improve customer service experience step by step. This is the most fundamental problem to fix in the business.
2. Take a phased approach to use Daily-Dilly for the promotion of improved customer experience. For example, provide food coupons on Daily-Dilly when installing more eateries in

The recommended strategy allows us to exploit our environmental advantage and limit the possibility of excessive demand. The market for adventure tourism is estimated at 787,000 Britons. Our conservative goal of reaching 0.35% of this market will result in 2754 new customers. This combined with a strong local market will result in approximately $286,450 in revenues in the first year. These numbers are less than current capacity projections of 3600 customers served in a season. International customers would also be more likely to take extended visits in the region, offering incentive to other local industry members to enter into agreements with us to present a package of services to international travel wholesalers. This maximizes our resources and product…

Given the solution3R’s (Reprice, Reposition, Redesign), the company can now make recommendations as to what Enchanted Kingdom must do and implement. After the general problem which is how to even out demand throughout the year has been solved, then other sub-problems like people spending too much time waiting for the rides during peak season and boosting the park attendance during lean months would also be answered. Given this, the first recommendation of the group is that for Enchanted Kingdom to pursue their expansion plans. But what the group would recommend is that they expand in other places outside Manila like Cebu and Davao. If this would be the case, then Enchanted Kingdom would have an advantage to major competitors like Splash Island and Star City because again, they would be the pioneer theme park in Cebu especially that extreme rides like those found in Enchanted Kingdom are still not offered here in Cebu. The problem of recession would not be an issue because it is visible that the economy of Cebu is boosting. According to Eric Ng Mendoza, president of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Cebu will continue to have a robust economy and a better business climate in the next years. Expansion here in Cebu would help Enchanted Kingdom gain more profit and at the same time, they would be able to pursue this long-time plan without worrying much whether people can afford leisure spending or not. Another recommendation would be that the company should spend a day wherein the members (membership cards) would celebrate together with the crew and staff of Enchanted Kingdom. This would be like a “Fun Day in EK” wherein all the regular customers who hold membership cards can have unlimited access to the rides and attractions offered. In this way, the company is building personal relationship to the customers and is aligning with its mission that is providing guests and crew unique experience of fun and enjoyment. They could…
