In this scenario, either or both James and David would attempt to confirm that one of them are wrong. I would think that the main strategy would be to persuade James about his actions not being planned and that he actually should be ready to compromise or help David. I think that they should also be persuaded that these actions are minor problems and should apologize to each other just in case of either of them feeling that they have been hurt sentimentally. The thing is, is that sorry is not going to decrease stature between the two, but, however, would make the company much more stronger due to conflict is apart and the parcels of existence that the group members must come out when these kinds of situations

Conflict can occur in many situations in the workplace such as, when there is an organisational change or, when people’s personalities clash. When there is a personality conflict between colleagues these issues should be looked at from the other person’s point of view to try and understand them and determine what may cause someone to act this way; you can also look at how others interact with them to gain knowledge and understanding of others, most importantly the conflict should be resolved quickly before it becomes out of control. When two people clash due to issues it is usually easier to handle as the situation can be looked at logically with compromise…

The available management strategy that I think is more appropriate for the current situation with Dan and Clyde would be the team building project. They have to learn how to trust each other. For them learning how to trust each other is not only beneficial for them, but for the company as well. Once they gain the trust in each other, everything will run smoothly and also once they gain that trust in one another, they should also be able to communicate better. Strong personalities, differences in work ethics, and a sense of urgency for admissions to get their students on the scheduling block are the basis for these problems. This issue also exists in that each department does not have a complete understanding of what the other does and who should be doing what. Conflict arises when one department attempts to tell the other what to do or impose policy on the other. I also believe there is some residual resentment among the departments because admission receives a comprehensive training as well as the pay is much higher than the operations side. The biggest reason m for the animosity is that the admission advisor deals with getting the student in the door and that can take up to a couple of months whereas, the SSC’ have the student from the start of their classes until they graduate which can be two to six years depending on the degree. The SSC’s are responsible for student retention which can be very difficult and is a huge responsibility. SSC’s are tasked with being an academic advisor, pseudo psychologist, cheerleader, and also has to deal with parents. This can be emotional draining for the SSC, especially when a student has a severe issue personally. The SSC’s feel insulted that the pay is so much lower than the admissions so conflict is present from the…
