Christopher Newport: Recruitment Analysis
Coming into Christopher Newport, a definite goal of mine was to find my best friends. I wanted to find the people who I would have standing next to me on my wedding day, cry with, laugh with, and eat an entire pizza with and not feel the least bit guilty. I know it is an extremely cheesy antidote, but not once did I think I would find that in any sorority.

After meeting so many individuals throughout my first semester freshman year involved in Greek life, I hesitantly decided to go through recruitment. This whole process, especially the first day, I was so overwhelmed and intimidated and considered dropping it all together. I just remember walking into my first round, some girl came up out of absolutely no where and grabbed my arm and led me into the room. I may or may not have jumped when she grabbed my arm.

And also, I never saw myself running home to Alpha Delta Pi. If you asked me before beginning recruitment, I would have placed myself in a completely different organization without any hesitation. It wasn’t until preference round when I realized that I was going to find myself the privilege to be a part of such an amazing group of women. The fire alarm actually went off in the middle of my preference round, causing us to have to finish our round outside on the York lawn. Even with all the craziness of relocating outside, the girl, Taylor Walters, I was talking to

Before college, I never had any friends that I could be my true self around, and now I have almost 100. These girls have supported me in countless endeavors without even knowing it. I can honestly say before receiving the confidence give to me through Alpha Delta Pi, I could of never of seen myself achieving my goal of attending medical school or giving tours every day as a Student Ambassador on campus. My sisters have served as the best role models and motivators without even knowing

These demographic changes can be taken under consideration for the recruitment strategies, because Landslide Limousine Service can make a change in the city demographic by creating a diverse group of the minor’s ethnicities group. This can make a difference in how a Limousine company can be highlighted among others. With these factors, we suggest that Mr. Stonefield can plan to hire a new driver for every 5 client that repeat service in the company and it can possible that a 5% growth or higher over the next 5 years.…

Last summer, I endeavored a life changing experience. American Legion Buckeye Boys State is a leadership program. It is the best Boys State program in the nation. On top of this, it is among the top programs for leadership, growth, and is a meeting of the greatest minds of Ohio, and by proxy, of the nation. But it’s so much more than that. From Day One, the minute you step off the bus, it instantly becomes an incredible experience. Everyone, people who have never even met before, are shaking everyone else’s hands, introducing themselves, and campaigning for positions before anyone has even dropped their luggage off. It was breathtaking, truly, and it made me realize that I too had to step up. Naturally, I did just that. I started meeting people,…

I was skeptical about joining a sorority, but I was surprised after I went through rush I meet my new sisters and found my home away from home. When I put a homesick post on Facebook, I had 13 sisters comment on the post or message me making sure I was fine. Being from a town where everyone was caring and loving, made me think I would never find the same support system in college, but I found it in my sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta. I still believe if I did not join AGD then I would have gone home from the lack of emotional support.…

Most people do not have the ability to think of college without thinking of some sort of Greek life organization. Whether that thought is negative or positive may vary, but it is rare to think of any time in a college of any sort without thinking of a fraternity or a sorority at all. This is to be expected because most of these groups have somewhat dominated their campuses for hundreds of years, or since their particular chapters were formed. Supporters of Greek life, especially of fraternities, argue that being involved in Greek life organizations encourages brotherhood, the development of leadership skills, and the participation in philanthropic organizations throughout the students’ collegiate career.…

The freshman I choice to mentor was my sister, Shanise Allen. I know some might thing I took “the easy way out” but on the contrary it was just the opposite. Growing up, my sister and I have always been close. We usually did everything together. We went to the same middle school and high school I was always 3 years ahead of her. As we got older, that all began to change. We slowly started to separate especially when I graduated high school and started to attend college. I became busy and she was involved with sports. We both ended up not having the time for each other.…

It was a cold morning. All of us lined up next to the fence checked-in, turned in our phones and got our assigned rooms. We standed next to our bunk for the next to what I believed to be forever, but it was probably just two hours. I saw my dad and cousin leave and my friend going to another floor to what I later find out to be another division. It was a weird feeling being in a mix of people around California and even outer states cadets. We were all just standing next to our bunk with butterflies in our stomach. At least I was. The day went by very slow, most likely because of being hours always without a way to contact my parent and not knowing what will happened each day.…

I attended school at Broad Street High School in Shelby Mississippi. I was a junior in high school at the time me and a few of my friends decided to start a step team. The name of the group we started was called the Suave Young Gentlemen or S.Y.G. I had the opportunity to compete along with my friends against many other organizations. We won a lot of competitions along the way but that wasn’t the most important thing I hold on to from those years. Even though it wasn’t a college fraternity we still learned the values of building trust and strong friendships. I am still friends with many of the gentleman I had the pleasure of performing with. The biggest part of our group was community service. We did everything from cooking for our towns homeless to performing at local nursery homes for our elders. During those times I learned to love my fellow man. After performing I would sit and talk for hours with the homeless and my elders. The information that I learned from them all was so insightful. One of the homeless I was talking to surprised me when they told me just a few years before they held a manager title at a local restaurant. Everyone I talked to preached the same message to me about staying in school and pursuing a higher education. Those singular moments are still fresh in my mind as of today. I will truly never forget being a member of the organization I was apart of. My group also use to get up early every Saturday morning and cook breakfast for our family and friends with allowed us to bond even more with our families. Just picture every Saturday you…
