ASSIGNMENT Submitted by Teena Kurian Up selling Up selling is a sales technique whereby a seller induces the customer to purchase more expensive items, upgrades, or other add-ons in an attempt to make a more profitable sale.upselling implies selling something that is more profitable or otherwise preferable for the seller instead of, or in addition to, the original sale.
Example:-
* Suggesting a 2 bed room flat for rental at Rs.8000 for two people bedroom who came for one bed room flat saying that it will be more convient and cost effective. * Selling luxury finishing on a vehicle.
Cross selling Cross selling is the action or practice of selling among or between clients, markets, traders, etc. or the action or practice of selling an additional product or service to an existing customer. The objectives of cross-selling can be either to increase the income derived from the client or clients or to protect the relationship with the client or clients.
Example:-
1. A laptop seller offering a customer a pen-drive, and or accessories along with a laptop. 2. A Life Insurance company suggesting its client signs up for car or health insurance.
Asset under Management
Asset means total worth of a company. The market value of assets that an investment company manages on behalf of investors. . Assets under management (AUM) are looked at as a measure of success against the competition and consists of growth/decline due to both capital appreciation/losses and new money inflow/outflow.
