For my egg drop project I made a contraption with a garbage bag‚ yarn‚ cardboard‚ Popsicle sticks‚ and hot glue. First I cut a medium sized square out of cardboard. Then I stuck Popsicle sticks in the shape of a square with three sticks on each side. After that the sticks were hot glued to the card board from top and bottom. And in order for the egg to be seen from the bottom I had to cut a circular hole into the bottom of the piece of cardboard. To suspend the egg I made a rubber band net. First

Problem: How much does an object accelerate when the height of the drop is increased or decreased? Preliminary Research: When going into this experiment I already knew that air resistance is the force of the air repelling against the object and slowing it down slightly. Gravity is the force that holds something down to the ground. I know without gravity everything and everyone would be floating around everywhere‚ like astronauts on the moon. Air resistance and gravity work together in a lot of

How much salt must be added to a glass of water for an egg to float? Hypothesis: I believe it will take 5 tbsp. of salt to be added to water for an egg to float. My reason is that I think that 5 tbsp. of salt is very heavy and will make the water heavy enough to float the egg. I must make the water heavy enough to float the egg. If the water has enough salt it will float. Materials Used: Eggs – 2 medium sized chicken eggs (2.0oz each) Natural Sea Salt Iodized Salt (table salt)

Robert Bruce Egg Drop Project May 5‚ 2014 Its a very well know fact that eggs are very weak and it doesn’t take much for them to break. Just ask me‚ mine cracked when we dropped it from the bleachers. Then broke when we dropped it from six feet. My grouped used two plastic bags‚ some rubber bands‚ pop sickle sticks‚ and cotton balls these materials were not effective in this project though. So the original project was to create a vehicle that will protect the egg from breaking

Victoria Pham Marshall Malino Ethan Waugh Naked Egg Drop lab May 21‚ 2013 The purpose of the lab was to create a contraption that prevents an egg from breaking when dropped from about 18 ft. We made net out of yarn and lined the bottom of the box with cotton to soften the impact of the egg. Though the contraption didn’t work very well since the egg broke the moment it landed. Though we managed to calculate the amount of Potential energy at the start and how much kinetic energy it had when it

Milikan Oil Drop Experiment Objective To experimentally determine the quantum nature of charge by using the equipment especially designed for this experiment. Theory A spherical drop of oil‚ falling through a viscous medium like air‚ will quickly reach a constant velocity. When it reaches this equilibrium state‚ the viscous force is balanced by other forces acting on the drop‚ such as gravity‚ buoyant forces from the air‚ electrical forces‚ etc. In this experiment an electrical force of varying

Are naked eggseggs with no shell? What? You may think I am speaking about a hard boiled egg‚ but‚ no. Boiled eggs have their centers heated making the shell easily come off. Naked eggs have their shells taken off with one simple ingredient everyone has: vinegar. The acetic acid inside the vinegar strips the shell‚ calcium carbonate‚ away from the egg‚ the chemical formula is: CaCO3 (s) + 2 HC2H3O2 (aq)→Ca(C2H3O2)2 (aq) + H2O (l) + CO2 (g) (Imagination Toledo‚ 2017) Once the egg has been separated

the grade A egg‚ a series of tests were conducted in order to accurately design a contraption that would uphold under the force of the fall without the egg cracking or popping out. The first test was to determine the average mass and dimensions of the eggs. The materials needed to conduct this section of the lab include 60 eggs‚ a scale‚ a string‚ and a caliper. In order to obtain the mass‚ an egg was placed on a scale and the mass was recorded; this was repeated for the other 59 eggs. After they

The drop of the egg has many physics‚ when the egg drops there it has lost for forces behind it such as the eggs speed and the movement of it. The forces of the egg is velocity‚ speed‚ Newton’s first law‚ gravity and acceleration. If you see when the egg drops the motion will still remain moving until it gets interrupted by any other other forces‚ for example the floor that the egg would eventually hit would be the force that causes it to stop it from moving.
