Ways to Improve Machine-Assisted Communication
Ways to improve our machine-assisted interpersonal communication In term of channels, machine-assisted interpersonal communication setting is more limited compared to interpersonal communication setting. Machine-assisted settings use only one or two channels in one time. In contrast, interpersonal communication settings are able to use more than two channels simultaneously. Nowadays, cell phones, tablet computers, and laptops are no longer strange in this sophisticated era. These are the medium which can improve our communication in machine-assisted settings. Through these gadgets, machine-assisted interpersonal communication can be the most effective way to communicate in term of fast feedback receives and less noise or interference. These are the examples of machine-assisted medium and its channels involve;

Telephone – phone call Phone call is a primary feature in every telephone, cell phone, or tablet computer. A phone call uses electrical energy and sound waved as its channels to transmitting message. Ages ago, every phone call will be charged for some amount to communication service Provider Company. But as the time flows, the cell phones are improving in its physical and function. Through the time, smart phone was invented. Using internet facilities, phone call nowadays can be made for free. As long the phone was connected to the internet, talk over an hour is possible as you do not have to worry about the charge. The application for free call can be downloaded by almost all smart phones for free. Some of the well-known applications for this feature are Viber, Skype, and Talktone.

Messaging Messaging function is as important as phone call on gadgets. Messaging is a function to convey a message to the other party using text message. Messaging relies on sight as its channel. Messaging nowadays is advanced into more interesting way. Not only using text to convey the message, but also some unique and cute emoticons to express or convey our feeling, thought, and message. This function can be enjoyed by downloading the application from the application store provided by the smart phones. Similar to Viber, Skype, and Talktone, this application also relies on internet connection to be able to use it and of course, for free. The applications that meet those criteria are WhatsApp, WeChat, Line, and KakaoTalk.

Video Call Video call is available in most smart phone that exists nowadays. Not only depend on sound wave as its channel, it also lean on sight to be able to communicate. This mean, we can talk to and see the other person we are calling even though they are hundred miles far away. As great as its sound, the charges for using this video call of course higher than normal phone call. And this is the reason why it’s was not widely use. But once again, this function can be enjoyed for free by using internet-based video call. The applications called Tango, Skype, and ooVoo are the application the best quality video call for the time being.

Voice messaging Voice message is popular nowadays. Instead of calling, voice message is sent like text message, but it use voice over text. Voice message is clear and easy to understand message compared to text message. Voice message is functioning like walkie-talkie. The method of using this voice messaging is by these steps; first, the sender would record the voice message and after done recording, the voice message will be send to the receiver. Then, only after the receiver receive and listen to the message, then the receiver would be able to respond to it. The famous walkie-talkie like functioning application is WeChat.

Broadcast messaging Broadcast messaging is a one-to-many style of messaging. It’s involving more than one person that communicate with each other. The purpose for sending one message is for telling the message to many people in its special group or circle. The channel can be either sight for text broadcast message, or sound wave for voice broadcast message. Broadcast messaging is popularized by many instant messaging applications such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Line, and Twitter.
